Came to get an oil change a few weeks ago. Definitely coming back! I drive a Crosstrek and Subaru has played me into spending way more than necessary for services. I so appreciated Edmundo keeping me updated every step along the assessment of my car. I liked being able to see comparisons of my car's fluids to what it should be at. No pressure at all for add ons. I added a few things that I had purposely been avoiding at Subaru and still spent way less. Highly recommend!
Reliable, honest, and always going above and beyond. I came in to have them check why there was a burnt plastic smell coming from my car after I had just gotten oil change, transmission fluid, brake, steering, etc changed. Frank took a look at what was happening. He checked all the fluids and let me know (and showed me) the transmission fluid level was great. I've used San Mateo Oil Stop since relocating to San Francisco in 2015 with my employer which was located a few blocks from Oil Stop. Every visit the guys are great, they are kind and thorough and efficient. I've had two different Jeeps that they've serviced for me during this time. Yes there are oil change stores in SF and I use them sometimes but Oil Stop is the best especially the managers and Juan and Augustin who took car of me on 2.25.2024. Maurice
I have been coming to this Oilstop drive thru for oil changes for years for my Toyota 4Runner and my wife's Suburu Outback. I will start with the positives. The service is great and fluids and tire pressure checks are part of the service and that is nice. The negatives is that they will hound you to charge for services you don't need. Whenever I go in, I tell them I'm only interested in the oil change and the free fluids and maintenance that comes with the check. We have been going here for several years. I always bring my daughter's car here and we have consistently had great service. Every single employee is extremely personable and friendly. They always inform you of services they have available for your car but never pressure you into buying it. I would highly recommend this business. I am always impressed! Plus they give you a free drink while you wait!
We've used this OilStop for years and typically have been quite happy. They are polite and we've had minimal problems with the servicing of our multiple vehicles. Today I went in with our 2023 mini cooper. When asked what the present cost was ..... something was $66. Honestly, the young man spoke quickly and all I got was $66. That apparently does not include oil so if you're trying to get a total estimate cost ask them to factor that in. Our total bill was over $150 (no additional additives were used). Ok I'm not one to usually write a review on a service provided such as an oil change, but I just had to! These guys provided legit when above and beyond to provide great service and make sure you got what you needed with proof of what you currently have in your car. Usually when going to a dealership or any service done predominantly by men and they see a female, they automatically want to over charge or sale the female something. But not this place! I like that you can stay in your car while they change your oil. They work pretty quickly. They also offer you drinks while you wait. You also get a coupon for a free car wash. Overall, good experience :)
This is the worst oil change place in Bay Area. Stay away. Charged my daughter over 450 for an oil change which was done wrong. When they reinstalled oil filter housing they didn't take off old gaskets and replace the they just put new one over old one. Caused oil to leak then they coerced her into changing the power steering fluid. IF YOU OWN A BMW DONT LET THEM PUT THEIR POWER STWERING FLUID INTO CAR. IT IS NOT BMW POWER STEERING FLUID IT IS A CHEAP REPL EMENT THAT WILL WRECK YOUR CAR.
