The 3 stars is for every single person that works here,for It pains me to write this because Everyone in the establishment seems to be working their bottom off and that's the problem because they are excruciatingly short handed. It seemed like Dominique was the Only person down there working on 3 cars :( (salute to Him) It took us exactly 1 hour and 30 minutes for just an oil change. I have been coming to this Chevron Oil Changer for as long as it's been open. I drive from a Palo Alto to San Mateo. Every car I own comes to this oil changer why? Best service, full service, nice people, air filters and all the good things I like to add to my service. If you want a clean oil change from a clean shop with knowledgeable and good staff come to San Mateo Chevron Oil Changers ! I love them!!!

The service itself is great but the time management is not. The service techs that do the actual work are great and everyone is friendly, t the place and flow is unorganized. The wait times are much longer than needed do to the lack of organization. This used to be a much better experience. You pay a premium for the quick arrive time but that is no longer the case.
I went in for an oil change after seeing the reviews here and was expecting that it would be a relatively good experience for a car-service errand, but I still managed to be pleasantly surprised. I expected long wait times due to the helpful other reviews and happened to not wait very long, maybe due to the timing of my visit. The staff seem friendly and knowledgeable, trying to genuinely help you better understand your car without pressuring additional services or costs. Will definitely be going back
I wanted to update my review. I tried twice to get an oil change here, to no avail, the wait time was just too long (not enough employees). I did manage to get in on the third attempt (I'm stubborn, and I don't like to give up). The wait was around 30 minutes, plus my service, so it was about 1-hour total. Service was decent, the techs were nice, but they also stiff around a lot talking to each other in front of me rather than working on the car. I don't know what the vehicle in front of you required for service, but obviously it took longer than normal. We can only hope you'll decide to give us another chance. charged my daughter 400 dollars for an oil change then tried to sell her new air filter that was replaced a month ago. NEVER AGAIN. THIS PLACE IS A RIP OFF also told her she has to replace power steering fluid which was done within 5 k miles. I cAlle them on it said it was a mistake, sorry. they refused to refund said corporate had to send me a check. we'll see also car was in service bay for upwards of 2 hrs. this is not a quick oil change place. they take their time and try to come up with shit your car doesn't need...rath... read more

Showed up on a Wednesday 5 minutes before they opened at 8 am and received the last open bay (there are three bays). They didn't start on my car until 8:33. Nice folks but painfully understaffed. Just expect to wait. And the Wi-Fi didn't work.

I like to get there early, too, when I need service, and I can understand the frustration when you don’t get out quickly, particularly when you go to the trouble of showing up early. Pros: - Stay in the comfort of your own car during service. - Free beverage offered while you wait - Staff are friendly - Coupons are available on their website. - Coupon for free exterior-only car wash off-site. Cons: - Very slowwww for a drive thru oil change. Figure around 45 minutes per car for an oil change. If there are two cars ahead of you, you will probably be here for a couple of hours. - They do try to upsell unnecessary services, but aren't pushy.
