The staff were great. Very helpful. They made themselves very available. All questions were answered. Mario was great and the lawyer they sent to my house was also wonderful. Overall, this process was so easy and I am very pleased with my choice to refinance and stay with PennyMac. I was dreading the process of refinancing and thought it would be a hassle and burden, I was very wrong!!! Thanks so much everyone.

This was a refinance, same lender. PennyMac made it fairly easy to do, but there were some glitches. 1.) PennyMac charged us to provide themselves with a loan payoff amount 2.) They forgot to let us know the loan had been approved and was ready to go to closing. 3.) They pushed the 1st payment out so far (till next yr). that we paid a very large pre-paid interest charge. 4) The loan docs were wrong and 4 copies of many docs to sign, crazy.

My experience with Penny Mac was good. I have been with them for 6 years. They are alway very helpful.
Except for a hick-up at the beginning, everything went as expected and Bridget was very proactive in keeping me up to date. My only complaint was that I was informed that there was a problem with our loan on the day of signing by a voicemail from the notary. Obviously I was very concerned and could not find out what the problem was until later on that day. My advice is that this type of communication only come from someone who can explain the problem.
A way to know what documents that were already uploaded that were requested without having to send an email or phone call. The NJ Rate lock form was requested multiple times and only sent once in the beginning. I do not feel that the closing estimate was correct or explained as to where the numbers were coming from. I still feel that it needs to be looked at in looking at my prior loan there is still an escrow balance? Why?

I tell people when they ask that my loan is through Penny Mac and that I enjoy their customer service. The website is also a feature I enjoy. This refinance process for me was much more enjoyable that the last time I refinanced my old home. The closing papers were a bit odd, because if my wife's schedule and mine. We couldn't nail down a day for the two of us to be in the same state due to the military. But we got it done, it only took changing the schedule 3 times.
