Very pleasant experience for my first refinance PennyMac walked me through the whole process and explained anything that I didn't understand. It was great working with my Rep.
I know the staff is stretched thin in this environment, but the entire process was really unsatisfactory. From mis-quotes and errors in the initial rate quote through automated emails repeatedly requesting documents already in the system to a closing that was two hours later than scheduled, this was a bad experience from start to finish.
Hermes Mejia was wonderful to work with. While there were some delays in communications, we understand that refinancing has been very busy due to low interest rates and we were patient. He returned a call to us on a Sunday to schedule closing and we truly appreciated it. Would highly recommend!

The weekly check-ins were extremely helpful and convenient. However, I had two questions which I communicated via email to the email address provided that were never addressed. I received the automated response indicating that my inquiry has been received aba would be processed, and yet after three or more weeks, I still never heard back and had to struggle to find a phone number which would connect me to a human in order to have my question addressed.
My major issue was the closing. First closing (Saturday) the closing agent did not show up. I tried to call but realized I didn't have her contact info. Jennifer setup another date, but Closing agent did not show up again. Finally, on past Sautuday the closing agent shows up but I WAS NOT told about it, Luckily I was home and the closing tookplace.
I was told my new mortgage payment, I asked if insurance and taxes were included i was told yes. Later to be told it was a mistake. I was told I had money coming back and closing cost only $89 but it ended up being over $1500 also instead of mortgage payment being $950 its more $1191. I was very unhappy about that.
