Better Communication, I brought more money to closing than I needed because of lack of communication.
Pennymac took a long time to close, and the rate went down, yet getting the lower rate was not an option like other lenders such as Loan Depot and Common Wealth. I chose PennyMac because you are my current lender and I have no problems and want yo build a good long term relationship if possible. At the end the refinance was completed in approximately 2 months.
Each PennyMac representative we spoke to was friendly and informative. It did take a little longer to close than we had been told - but I am sure that is due to closures and working from home due to COVID-19. Despite that, it was a great experience working with PennyMac! Everything ran smoothly and professionally. Thank you!!
1. The initial adjuster (Julie/Julia) advised my that since I was doing a VA Refinance that there will be a soft inquiry into my credit. That was a lie. There was a Hard Inquiry into my credit. 2. Had to reschedule my wife signing at closing on 4/20 to 4/23 due to some errors between PennyMac and the Title Company. Was not happy with that. 3. Was told that the closing cost would be waived. That was a lie. 4. Hard to get a hold of the loan officer (Deborah) at times for follow up.

The communication from my MAC Team person was SO TERRIBLE. At one point, when I asked for an update on my loan status and where it was at, she said something about the loan process being "as unpredictable as the weather" and she had "no idea." Really? I know the virus situation slowed things down, but the slowness coupled with the total lack of communication made it awful. I would NOT recommend refi through PennyMac to anyone, ever. I'd type more specifics but limited to 500 characters. 🙄
