I realize that operating in this new normal "COVID -19" environment can be difficult for coworkers used to speaking to each other face to face when working on a loan but there were some gaps in communication between the loan specialist and loan officers. Information that should have been asked at the beginning of the 8 week process, i.e. employment verification, credit check indicated that someone was not following a checklist of required information and sharing amongst the parties.

It took multiple times with several different agents over weeks to get to speak to a supervisor over what the closing issues were.. And after speaking with a supervisor problem was resolved the next day. Was told on multiple occasions I could not be transferred to a supervisor. And this was after 60 day of the refinance process before I asked.
Better Communication, I brought more money to closing than I needed because of lack of communication.
Pennymac took a long time to close, and the rate went down, yet getting the lower rate was not an option like other lenders such as Loan Depot and Common Wealth. I chose PennyMac because you are my current lender and I have no problems and want yo build a good long term relationship if possible. At the end the refinance was completed in approximately 2 months.
Each PennyMac representative we spoke to was friendly and informative. It did take a little longer to close than we had been told - but I am sure that is due to closures and working from home due to COVID-19. Despite that, it was a great experience working with PennyMac! Everything ran smoothly and professionally. Thank you!!
