I previously was a pennymac customer and I was offered discounts to keep my mortgage with them when bought a new house. I shopped around for loans and when it came down to it, pennymac got me the best interest rate with zero points and saved me nearly $4,000 in closing costs.

The application part was great and easy but once it went to underwriters it was a pain. It started smooth but in the end, I was never informed that I was still missing documentation. I had to call 2 days before close and find out. Martha was more confusing to talk to and I felt like she wasn't sure what was going on.

There was confusion with needed documents and multiple requests for the same documents. Once I communicated my irritation I got a call and the problem was taken care of. All in all I got through the process with only a couple of glitches.

Unfortunately Richard had a difficult time in communicating with us on very specific parts of this loan process. So much so, we switched to DeeDee Atkins to take over the process. Even after the loan was “funded” we are still waiting to see the loan paid off. We were informed the Sunday before this one that the funds should clear within 2 to 3 Business days. This was over a week ago. Fortunately, a phone call to Dee Dee & info was relayed to us that funds should clear within a day or two.
