First off, PennyMac offered me a 3.3 percent interest rate. After getting a referral to another lender from a coworker, that lender offered me a 2.5 rate. My question is why the big difference? Luckily PennyMac did match the offer. Another problem I had was when I would send questions by email or even leave messages by phone I did not get a prompt response back, mostly from Brandis Rembert. I should mention that the first delay was because her email went to my junk mail folder. She was nice tho

Took a while with the demand for loans at this time, but overall the process was smooth with very good communication.
We had great response and the closing was very fast. All the PennyMac customer service people were very knowledgable.
The customer service was painless, they explained everything every step ,they sent email to update you,and call every couple days to let you know any updates or to see if you had any questions.
When I was handed off from the loan agent (David) to the "loan team", Rebekah...it was explained this is to give the customer better responsiveness and a 1-stop shop experience to closing. Well, the service rep never had the latest info, so she was always either telling me something I knew from being on the portal, or having to "get back to me" after she spoke with the original agent, the closing team, you name it. I also was told there would be updates...there wasn't. Very disjointed.
