On the recommendation of a few friends, I took my older cat Blueberry here for a problem claw and some dermatological issues. I had heard that they do pro bono work for a no kill shelter with many elderly cats. They were not only able to see her that day, but also got her records transferred from her previous vet. Blueberry is an indoor only pet and is not at her best when going to the Doctor so I was nervous about how she would take to this experience. The location is very convenient. The waiting room is small and sparse... read more

My poor rabbit had a nasty case of ear mites and the people at Pet Samaritan were absolutely fantastic. Incredibly kind and caring, they really worked with me to be able to get Octavius the care he needed. I will definitely be using Pet Sam as my regular vet. Thank you so much!!

After a terrible experience at Penninsula Dog and Cat Clinic, this place was like an oasis. It came highly recommended by a colleague who has been going there for 12+ years. We ended up having to put our cat to sleep on the second visit...RIP Toni...and they made the experience really warm and comforting. They are really great people - so friendly and so knowledgeable. We love them!!

Cons: not the cheapest vet. Pros: friendly staff that seems very trust worthy. They successfully treated my s.o's dog's abscessed tooth. After having experienced the sub par corporate vets of oregon, who's name rhymes with canfield, it was worth the extra money. Though they don't offer payment plans unless it's an emergency such as an animal being hit by a car, they do accept "comfort credit" a credit card that can only be used at medical facilites.

This place is great! I have been taking my cats there for years. The folks at Pet Sam are caring and knowledgable, always ready to lend a hand or answer questions from stressed out cat mamas (that would be me, sometimes). They are more affordable than some of the other hospitals I've tried, so I appreciate their humble waiting room. No trendiness or fancy pet stuff in this business, just good care and respect. I highly recommend this clinic to any pet owner in the area.

This place is amazing. I'm so glad I found it and that it's so close to my house. I'm new to Portland, and finding a good vet is always a challenge. They are very nice here. From the office staff to the assistants to the doctor. They are friendly and very knowledgeable. They made us and my furry little trouble-maker Corgi feel right at home and at ease. They are thorough and answer every and all questions. They outline exactly how much everything will cost before it's done, so there's no surprises. Best of all, they offer ... read more

I've been taking my older cat here for two years, at first out of convenience but then because I found Dr Erickson who is absolutely wonderful. She has been his primary doctor and as my cat is relatively special needs in terms of his health, we see her a lot. The supporting staff have always been kind as well. Also: get the pet insurance. It has saved me SO much money over the years!

I usually don't write reviews on places but I have to on this place. I took my dog in there with a swollen eye on Monday morning. The front of the house staff were very friendly and helpful. They made sure I knew that I would be taken care of soon and constantly checked with me while I waited. The Vet that we saw was Dr. Davies. She was friendly and was professional. With out turning this into a novel I will just say that the follow up, the treatment and the whole experience was fantastic. I will highly recommend them and ... read more

I started seeing another vet out of convenience and quickly saw the error of my ways. I now drive out of my way to come back to Pet Samaritan! The entire staff is friendly and helpful and seem to truly adore animals. They are kind and gentle with my kitties and shower them with compliments (which we all enjoy!). Dr. Erickson is a wonderful vet who owns cats, so I feel she really is an expert beyond her doctorate degree. We have found our vet and our clinic. :)
