For floor cleaning and most walls it’s great. It’s been 2 months and it still has not learned the layout of our pool. It will not climb the one stair to the tanning ledge to clean I have to brush it down myself.

Robotic cleaners have a hard time with stairs and benches, as they can’t tell if it’s the top of the pool. Regular pool maintenance requires consistent brushing of the steps, benches, etc. Once the debris is dislodged from those areas, the cleaner can take care of it at the bottom or sides of the pool. First time ever maintaining a pool and decided to purchase based on the local stores recommendation!! Best ever! This makes cleaning the pool so much easier! Love it!!!

My Polaris Alpha is my second one. I believe it is better than other brands, judging by reviews of other products. It’s not perfect however: • My first one lasted 4 years. At $1600 each, that’s $400/year - a bit steep. • it doesn’t clean my steps • it says it’s full when only a handful of debris is in the canister • neither the old nor the new one will connect to my wifi, so remote features are not available. None of these issues are deal breakers, however, and I bought a second one.

We recommend regular brushing of the steps, and once the debris is dislodged, the cleaner can take care of it at the bottom or sides of the pool. I purchased this as a gift for my daughter's birthday. We purchased ours a few years ago and it has been rock solid reliable and does a great job of cleaning the pool. It is a great cleaner and our family can easily recommend this product.
