My Polaris Alpha is my second one. I believe it is better than other brands, judging by reviews of other products. It’s not perfect however: • My first one lasted 4 years. At $1600 each, that’s $400/year - a bit steep. • it doesn’t clean my steps • it says it’s full when only a handful of debris is in the canister • neither the old nor the new one will connect to my wifi, so remote features are not available. None of these issues are deal breakers, however, and I bought a second one.

We recommend regular brushing of the steps, and once the debris is dislodged, the cleaner can take care of it at the bottom or sides of the pool. I purchased this as a gift for my daughter's birthday. We purchased ours a few years ago and it has been rock solid reliable and does a great job of cleaning the pool. It is a great cleaner and our family can easily recommend this product.

It seems to work well but several times it does not go all the way to the top if the pool. It falls back.

Thank you for your review, Richard. If your robot isn't climbing well or doesn't seem to be ingesting large debris, the main culprit is usually a clogged debris canister. We suggest carefully rinsing the canister after every cycle and periodically using mild soap and a soft brush to dislodge any microscopic debris that may be impeding flow.
