To prevent the cleaner from getting stuck, check the following: 1) Verify proper flow by counting the wheel revolutions per minute (RPMs). 2) Ensure the Back-up Valve is cycling on and off about every three minutes. 3) Adjust the Thrust Jet to change the directional path of the cleaner. This pool cleaner was wonderful. I had an older polaris that I bought 7 years ago and it stopped working. I was close to getting an electrical cleaner, but the price was double this model plus I already had the extra booster pump. Smart choice! The intake bag is much wider and it picks up large leaves and even sand. Also love the white and blue look!. Very pleased over the last 4 weeks!!

Have used Polaris products for 19 years. Hopefully this model will work as well or better than the 380 model I did have.
The Polaris 280 has been doing a great job keeping our new pool clean. Takes some adjusting to get the floats and weights positioned right so that the hose does not get tangled and the tail stays down but once adjusted works well.
