If I could give this place zero stars- I would. I went to companion pet clinic yesterday to treat my cat for ear mites. He was healthy beyond that. The vet I had yesterday was very kind but not thorough in her exam at all. She only asked me about the ear mites and a vet tech took his temperature but never looked or examined him much beyond that. That isn't the problem here though, the biggest problem is that I went to treat my cat for earmites and I noticed today my cat has fleas now. He did not have fleas before today and ... read more
On 9.5.18 I was told by Dr Jane Erickson at companion pet clinic of NE Portland that my healthy 4 year old pug Jake was terminally ill and needed immediate surgery that's cost ( was not enough to come up with in what I was told was hours that he had left to live.) Dr Jane Erickson told me she could not help me after doing one test then gave me 15 minutes to figure out how to get 8,000 dollars and only asked me "when will you have the money,do you have the money now?"(pestering me several times) Dr Erickson had informed me ja... read more
After taking my new puppy in and letting staff know no LEPTO shot as the breed I have has had horrible reactions and even a death. I spoke to Vet and also Tech who said it would not be administered and noted in chart. My husband took dog in for 3rd set of shots and THEY GAVE OUR DOG THE LEPTO SHOT. Now they are trying to say not in chart but I gave records. Person I spoke with extremely rude. Will never step foot in such a place again Looking for legal options and my puppy package $$ funds back.
Buyer beware. They try to appear to be an economical option. Their vets must be pressured to upsell once they've got you in the door. The exam fee is great, but today they refused to give my healthy, stable senior dog her seizure medication, that she's been on forever, without performing literally $600 worth of lab tests. Ridiculous. And cruel. No reason to give them my business. And by the looks of their empty lobby, they could stand some of my business. 2 stars only because the vet was super nice to my dog before she made ... read more
WORSE EXPERIENCE EVER!! IN MY YELP HISTORY Ive never given one star ever. I want to put a negative one hundred star review because I've had such a bad experience here. Omg these people are the worse. I just went into get two of my dogs a travel certificate for their flight fm Portland to Baltimore. THIS TOOK TWO HOURS OF OUR LIVES THAT I WILL NEVER GET BACK. First of all these people were extremely rude they held on to my credit card for one hour and when I asked for it back the dark haired lady slammed it back on the counte... read more
This is a terrible place! If you care about your pet do not take them here! I'll try to keep this as brief as possible...I made an appointment for my cat Mimi to be spayed and declawed. Upon arrival at the clinic I checked in and was asked to pay for the services in advance which I thought was kind of odd but agreed to it anyway. I asked to speak to the veterinarian as this was Mimi's first time being seen here. They seemed a little bit put out but agreed to the consultation. The technician who came in to take her vitals was... read more
This clinic has gone way downhill. We have been going there for years but will be switching. They nickel and dime you over stupid stuff. My dog had an ear infection that they have treated him for in the past. He is prone to ear infections. Since I knew for sure that is what it was I called to ask if I could just get the medicine he had last time and save the expense of a pointless exam. They said no- they had to see him, but they would do it as a free "recheck". So I brought him in and checked in. They said nothing. After th... read more

I received a " generic " response from Companion Pet Clinic , to my previous review: Here is my response: They claim they care for my dog, yet I called about three times to speak to "clinic manager" to no avail. I also asked if I could speak to Dr, Smith who was going to perform surgery to my dog. I never received a call from her or anyone! I called three times Friday Oct 20th, 2017. No, Companion Pet clinic did not treat me like a "valued" client like their generic response claimed. Nor did they treat my dog like a valu... read more

For the last 15 years Companion Pet has taken care of our animals and overall the service has been accommodating. Recent events has forced me to reevaluate that decision. Two weeks ago, I had to take my sister-in-law's dog in for examination due to a shortness of breath. At the time, the clinic was under staffed with only one doctor who was stretched to his limit. Our initial exam was very limited resulting in an additional $620 in lab work to aid in evaluation. The doctor was very condescending, even sarcastic with his dia... read more
