We returned to Redeye Grille for a pre-theater lunch, and we were totally satisfied. Great food, a staff that is attentive to diners' schedules and a low-key but professional atmosphere keep this Carnegie Hall perennial humming. There is also an upstairs party room that can accommodate a nice sized crowd.
Awesome steak! The homemade guacamole is fantastic as an appetiser. I had a lobster and it was good but not as filling as a steak.
Redeye Grill has something to please everyone, from burgers and sandwiches to more robust fare. The service is excellent and the quality of the food is always great. If you need to make a show, just tell them and they will make every effort to get you where you are going on time.
The food was excellent-timely delivery of food to the table. Menu is al la carte--and can get pricey, but again the food was delicious, and worth it to us.
I live in the neighborhood and I was so looking forward to their Wedge Salad, which had been a staple on their menu but this Saturday night was a special only. This time of year iceberg lettuce is awesome, but not at RedEye. There was no heart of the lettuce, only the outer leaves that are never that tasty. I've been to this restaurant half a dozen times. I always enjoy my visit. The food is reliably good. Interesting menu. Obvious some thought went into it. Service is friendly, knowledgeable and non-intrusive. Great place to meet a friend and talk. You won't have to yell over the crowd noise. It's not cheap, but worth the price.
Although NYC has literally 100's of dining options, I would definitely check out Redeye Grill. It's conveniently located, fast and friendly service and the food was very good. I had the NY strip and my wife had scallop; we were both very pleased. The only negative comment I have would be that our waiter, though very efficient, was too rushed....a turnoff.

We enjoyed our visit very much. The maitre d', and servers were great. The live music set the ambiance... The steak, apps, and dessert were great. The Lobster Truffle Mac N' Cheese was incredible!!!
