We had brunch there on Mother's Day. The food, ambience and wait staff were wonderful. The lemon ricotta pancakes are awesome!
Often come here before weekend afternoon concerts at Carnegie Hall, and am rarely disappointed. The food is very good, tables are spaced far enough apart, and the noise level (thank goodness) is conducive to conversation.
With ceilings two stories high, fantastic and whimsical murals by the amazing Red Grooms, an intriguing menue and an efficient but unobtrusive waitstaff, the Redeye is always a "must do" on our New York visits. Our party celebrated mothers' day with salmon, short ribs and chicken schnitzel accompanied by some really fine jazz from the lounge. There are many other New York restaurants we enjoy, but few, if any have the attraction of the Redeye.
Promoted as a "sea food" restaurant, it still has a varied lunch menu. I have never had dinner there, but I can assure lunch time diners that anything is available from a shrimp cocktail to a full course meal! Not always "creative", it is solid. Portions are generous too. The ambiance is idyllic. HIgh ceilings,spacious, lovely decor, quiet enough to hold a conversation. Tables are spaced far apart so that you are not part of the next table's festivities. Definitely an inspired choice before a City Center performance.
Redeye continues to be a wonderful place--the food is consistent delicious and the staff excellent. We went for lunch/brunch on Saturday and were pleased especially with the lovely glass of champagne that came with our meal.
Top notch dining, fresh food and service....we will return!
I love it here, great food, service, ambiance...it's not a foodie joint per se, but I've never had a bad meal and the variety of the menu is great. I'll be back!
I’ve dined at Redeye Grill several times (usually before or after a concert at Carnegie Hall, just across the street) and have not had a so-so meal. The wait staff is very professional and attentive without being intrusive. The food is excellent. The Redeye Grill has become one of our more frequented places when we are in NYC.
We have eaten at the Redeye on many occasions when visiting NYC. Food is always good, well prepared, well presented, and reasonably priced. Service was great as usual.
