THIS IS STRICTLY FOR THE OUTPATIENT PROGRAM I was in SJBH hospital for 10 days before being walked directly to the outpatient program. At first I was hesitant about being there. I had been in other PHP/IOP programs that were less intensive and not as productive. I even told the group that I didn't see myself staying there long. What I found, however, was an incredible staff with empathetic leaders who guided us patients on a healing path to discover our true selves. The staff provided thoughtful and intriguing resources tha... read more

It was like being in the military, line up for breakfast, lunch and dinner; hurry up and wait over and over while the staff checks off whose going and whose not on their check sheets. Had group at least twice a day, the presenters talked in a monologue. When someone had a question, the presenter would talk over the person. It wasn't the way group should work, there should be interaction. Saw the doctor every day for about 5 minutes. Also they let us outside only twice during the 2 weeks I was there.

After getting transferred from Uplift Family Services located in Campbell, I was admitted into SJ Behaviorial Health Hospital. Lady in the front desk area was very kind. A small asian woman who respected my privacy and spoke with me in a secluded area so that way no other patients could hear my business being discussed. I was placed in the Pacifica Unit. Mainly for adolescents. Amazing stay. Food was good one day and wack the next day but it was alright. Breakfast during their Winter season was not it. But hey, at least ... read more

I had a positive stay here. I was placed on a 5150 hold by Kaiser after voluntarily going to the ER, and transferred here. I was treated with care and respect by all staff. I found the meals to be tasty. We had delicious spaghetti and garlic bread with zucchini one evening. The rooms were fine. I saw my room get cleaned thoroughly. Patients could request snacks and medications at any time of day, including the middle of the night. We were allowed to be on our rooms or out in the activity room. It was our own choice. Many pat... read more

My daughter was recently here for about 1 week. The building is very nice. Most importantly, the staff is wonderful. They are friendly, polite, return calls in a timely manner. My daughter said the food was surprisingly good. They seem a little short-handed on staff, especially nurses. She had one Behavioral Health Aide that was very short tempered with everyone, which is hard when people are extremely anxious and trying to get better. They allow the patient to heal, not pushing numerous groups on them every day. She... read more

San Jose Behavioral Health gives patients a place to learn some of life's most valuable ideas: self-care, courage amidst disappointment, engagement and contrary action to create relationships and health. As a healthcare professional, I have a high standard of care. San Jose learns everyday the best ways to give patients a new tenacity for mental health. They never stop improving or creating. Thank you for helping individuals and families. We are grateful to work with you and your full-hearted team.

The San Jose Behavioral Health Hospital was VERY helpful for our son. He actually responded rather quickly which shocked me since there was talk of going to a Behavior facility prior & he just freaked out. The entire staff was amazing from the intake Man Edwin, Receptionists, & go course the entire staff on the Pacifica Unit. Nick really enjoyed them & said they were " very nice" Laura, the Social worker & Janet from the Financial dept, along w/the 2 Psychiatrists Dr. Daveys & Dr Shull were were all outstanding. When we we... read more
