expect some wait times. Also odd medications get thrown at you like there is no tomorrow... funny thing is, in this crazy town, even these guys are booked couple of weeks in advance.
The San Jose Behavioral Health Hospital was VERY helpful for our son. He actually responded rather quickly which shocked me since there was talk of going to a Behavior facility prior & he just freaked out. The entire staff was amazing from the intake Man Edwin, Receptionists, & go course the entire staff on the Pacifica Unit. Nick really enjoyed them & said they were " very nice" Laura, the Social worker & Janet from the Financial dept, along w/the 2 Psychiatrists Dr. Daveys & Dr Shull were were all outstanding. When we we... read more
The staff is super friendly the mental health technician's all care about you and routinely check up every 15 minutes. The food is excellent and five star quality. The therapy sessions and activity time our well-planned out. I can't say enough things about San Jose behavioral health and how well I feel after being there for eight days
AVOID THIS FACILITY. CRITICAL CARE FAILURES & PATIENT RIGHTS VIOLATIONS I voluntarily presented to Kaiser Emergency Department on Lawrence Expressway, Santa Clara, seeking psychiatric support for a longstanding bipolar condition I've successfully managed for 40+ years. Within hours, I was issued a 5150 hold without adequate clinical justification and transferred involuntarily to San Jose Behavioral Health. My four-day stay revealed systemic failures in patient care and ethics: Clinical Care Issues: The psychiatrist, Dr. R... read more
Santa Clara Kaiser Behavioral Health crisis center sent my trans partner out to this facility under the PROMISE it was trans friendly. They've done nothing but deadname and misgender her, they put "Male" on her wristband when her legal gender is female and it said Female under kaiser's system. They've done nothing for her therapy wise but put an ankle monitor on her and threatened her with police. They took her clothes and notebooks she was even allowed in the crisis center. It's absolutely ridiculous, Kaiser Santa Clara Beh... read more
In my 5 days meeting patients here, I witnessed these things: Patients are often denied water, food, cups, toilets, meds, masks. Dirty bathrooms only get cleaned once a week. Patients are lucky to get shoes that fit, sweatshirts or sweatpants. Most wear paper scrubs. No windows, and only 40 minutes of outside time per week. A sober patient was hallucinating on the floor for one hour and no staff offered help. Some patients never leave bed, and are ordered back to bed when they get up. It is normal to have a day pass ... read more
This place was a total nightmare. The staff lied constantly, the other patients were confrontational and at times violent. My entire experience was filled with chaos. My mental health sank during my weeklong stay. There was no therapy or treatment of any kind. Some of the staff were nice and caring but most were cold and indifferent
this place sucks, If you need help... look elsewhere. The place is generally dirty, you practically get napkins and tissue paper for a pillow and blanket. And actually getting discarded is a nightmare. Some people I was in there with have been there for months and didn't even change clothes.
I wanted to contact the guys who took me here from Regional Medical Center in San Jose but these hospitals make it difficult for me to get this information. I came here on January 27th and I did not like it here. The people here were very rude to me and made me stay here for a long time even though I wanted to leave. It's uncomfortable here and they don't give any privacy.
