I remember during my time here all the patients and I tried to make a complaint about a doctor and how he continuously (in an instant too) puts us on meds. The staff laughed at us after we tried to file a complaint. I got misdiagnosed with bipolar and was put on the wrong medication for several months, thanks to that doctor. I also fainted here for some reason after taking my medication. I feel like all mental health hospitals lack in different ways, so it's really nothing new.

If I could give zero star or a minus I would not hesitate to do it. This place was a nightmare experience for me. Of course everywhere we go , there are good and bad people exist, but this place has more bad staffs and nurses than good one. Only a few of staffs here treated me fairly. For the love of God parents please do everything you can to avoid this place. My teen is going through a lot right now. She was on 72 hours hold sent there by Kaiser. I called there in a couple of hours after she was admitted and was told she will have her meds and access to the quiet room after doctor's order. Would give ZERO if possible. Horrific. Prison like environment with absolutely zero assistance/treatment for mental health. Our son was a self-admit and within 4 days we could not get him out fast enough. Points to walk away with... They will gladly sedate a patient. Overdue review of our nightmare experience at this disgusting place where they ignore patients' needs, caretakers' messages, careless 'care', misinformation, and awful treatment of patient's and family members. We watched SJBH take our teen in their car in complete panic mode as Kaiser failed to give details & led us to believe we were waiting for a Kaiser hospital room. It was ok for a crisis stabilization unit. But I have adhd and have been taking adhd meds for over fifteen years. And my doctor gave me no adhd meds. I've had to suffer for weeks now. Trying to get an appointment at the local Mental health place. But she replaced my Adderall with lithium. That is not a good doctor. Boo

Unfortunately, this place is pretty inept when it comes to how they conduct business with regard to PHP & IOP client services. You have to hound them and ask repeatedly for information about billing, costs and lab work. They keep saying, "We'll get on that." Their "on-site" psychiatrist isn't even associated with the facility, which make things very convoluted with regard to HIPPA rules. First time dealing with such a facility.

This place is absolutely fucking dog water. When i got there they made me change into an underwear and i dont even remember if they gave me a bra or anything. I had to change in FRONT of them to do a skin check and im not sure if they even looked away while i was changing out of my clothes. horrible honestly i have no words i went there when i was 17 back in early 2022 worst experience ever i was bunked in a room with a person who had literally attacked another patient for no reason that afternoon (i got there at midnight) i was forced to move my mattress by myself with no help from the staff into an isolation room because the other patient was being to loud for me to sleep a couple days later i was forced to watch this patient attack staff while we were locked in the day room helpless and forced to watc... read more
