Make sure you do your research before signing a contract with Public Storage. We moved out of the country and needed a 10x25 space to hold some of our household goods for up to 7 years. Public Storage advertised the lowest rates so we signed a contract. After only 3 years, we had to take a trip back to the ** to move our goods to another storage facility (Storage Q in Festus, ******** owned by a nice couple). It was well worth it. WARNING: This place will raise the rates as soon as you sign their contract. Then they will CONTINUE to raise the rate BY A LOT and they will do it every 2-3 months. This is why they do not offer a "locked in" rate even when you sign a year contract. These people are shady so we ended up needing to pay (AGAIN!) to have our stuff relocated to a non-shady public storage. Don't make the same mistake we made! AVOID THIS PLACE AT ALL COSTS.

I have no issues with the facilities, but they frequently increase rents by large amounts - just today I was notified that the rent is increasing by $80/month. In 2.5 years, the rent has increased by $132/month. They give very little notice, especially if you live far from your storage unit, so that you're held hostage to the new, random price increases. They provide no justification or explanation, just extortion.

CRIMINAL ACTIVITY!! I am highly disappointed in public storage. I am on an important work trip and got a phone call from a detective informing me that my public storage was burglarized. Trying to call public storage to verify was like jumping through hoops because no one ever picks up the phone. I called the ***** number thinking they could help just to have to them unable to verify if this information is true, and that they cant even get a hold of a property manager. So Public Storage decides to go by appointment only and doesnt tell the customer. So now the customer has to revolve their schedule around Public Storage. No sign on the door, no one answers the phone. You finally get a person on the phone and they are a robot that will not answer questions. Total nightmare. This location is in *****, **. ******** customer service and unfortunately ******************************************* has pretty much a monopoly on storage units around here. My rate went from $304. to $377. without notification. I paid $304. but in not willing to pay the remainder. They will not terminate my contract when I asked. I already have another unit at a different facility that is much cleaner and doesn't have rats. Don't ever rent from this place!

I rented a storage unit at the facility at **********************************************************. The unit was clean and easy to access. The staff were invariably courteous and helpful.However, I found, like many others, that the rent was going up by large amounts. For the first few years it would go up about $10 per month each year, which I thought was fine, but more recently it was going up by as much as $50 per month. Finally I moved out.
