Get directionsNote- I don't want this review to deter people who need help. This might be the right place for someone suffering from drug addiction. I do not recommend this place for someone suffering from Binge Eating Disorder or mood-based disorders who might require more psychiatric therapy. I visited a family member here. I was determined for her to stick it out in her program despite her complaints, but I changed my mind when I visited. I was so disappointed that this place doesn't provide the services advertised on their website a... read more
Just wanted to send a big ol F YOU to Sierra Tucson again, as I continue to struggle in search for peace 3 years after my traumatic experience here. I love seeing SOME positive reviews about treatment. It's really a shame Sierra Tucson LIED to me about what treatments were available and I don't have a positive story myself, them telling me they had Sex Addiction services and going to find out I wasted 4 straight days for them to figure out where the hell they were going to send me to ACTUALLY receive Sex Addiction services w... read more

I went for their 4-6 days evaluation program to find out what was wrong with me. The first day was spent sitting in a waiting room for over 8 hours with no food, room, access to luggage for reading material, etc. I was finally checked in that night. The rooms are shabby - think Super 8 with no phone or TV - the food is so-so, definitely not gourmet, the grounds are pretty. I was given some tests and told at the end of the 6th day I needed medication and had to stay another 7 days or they would release me with no prescript... read more
They seemed to care mostly about the money. Had to move to a place in California. I expected to spend $40,000 on treatment. Turned into almost $60,000 so far. Said their treatment was not robust enough but charged me alway. Said I had to pay first and try to get a refund later. Money given them was retirement money.
Trigger Warning: metoo, corruption. I want to thank Yelp (or perhaps it was ST's online PR person) for deleting my last review, arguing that I had no personal experience with this business. It's true that I hid my true feelings behind a mask of intellectualism and clinical objectivity in an effort to remain fair-minded. Nothing around my personal experience with this organization was fair. This organization has been serving our family for over a decade. We had known it to be a different sort of place in the beginning. When ... read more
I attended ST a few years ago to get treatment for severe PTSD and was there for approximately three months. While some of the care I received was great (Liz the equine therapist, Joann, David, and Michelle the individual/group therapists, Maureen the EMDR therapist, Shannon the RT, and many more truly are excellent clinicians), being there did more harm to me than good ultimately. A very unfortunate sentinel event happened while I was there involving one of the other clients, and the way the leadership team responded was be... read more
This is the most unorganized, traumatizing, unprofessional, and scammy place I have ever been. I left ST after one day feeling 10 times more traumatized than I already was when I arrived. Absolutely no guidance. The facility was dirty and reminiscent of an over-populated summer camp. They didn't feed me and the food they had left was disgusting and unhealthy. Was utterly shocked at how much they did not care. I felt invisible and mismanaged. Website and admissions staff are very misleading. Do. Not. Go. Here.
This is based on a one week stay at the desert flowers unit. I was struggling to find a place that would accept me due to dual diagnosis, and when they said they would I got excited, oh would I learn. I went there for eating disorder, trauma, and mood disorder. When it came to my eating disorder they had no idea what to do once I got there. I have struggled for a long time and someone telling me to eat isn't going work. I was told there would be support for meals and groups just for ED, but there is nothing in DF. When it c... read more
I am suing Sierra Tucson for fraud and negligence. They claim to have a chronic pain program tailored to an individual's needs, but it does not exist, and I was put in the general population of "recovery" clients. They promised to courtesy bill my insurance company, but did not do so until after a week had passed, and when the insurance company denied the claim, they failed to inform me or to contest the denial with a peer to peer review. They billed me for $2700/day, after having promised a lower but still outrageous sum... read more
