had to put our son into Sierra for anxiety and mood disorder. They have a farce they call family week which we attended. It is billed as family therapy to help both the patient and the family better understand the circumstances regarding the patient which it is not. They start by trying to get you to consistently use 'CORE FEELINGS'. Do not be fooled they do this so they can control conversations. Management at Sierra Tucson run a dangerous program. What they dont tell you about are all the suicides at Sierra Tucson. I was beat up twice at Sierra Tucson - all in my first week. The first time I was beat up was during my admittance process. Sierra Tucson promised to pay for my toiletries that my attacker destroyed and reneged. Sierra Tucson is a dangerous place, my hearing will never be the same from getting beat up and Sierra Tucson did not care. This is the absolute truth - do not trust them
A disturbingly backwards "treatment" facility. Didn't seem to help my family member and caused a lot of pain and stress in the process (and cost 60,000$). First of they don't actually offer many of the services they claim too. Nothing is individualized, once you get there you'll find that it's pretty cookie cutter for everyone. FORGET about it! I was on more drugs there than I have ever been. Wrongly diagnosed by incompetent "Dr". The nursing staff is horrendous! Save your money and go to Creative Care in southern Calif where they really do care and know how to treat professionally!
Note- I don't want this review to deter people who need help. This might be the right place for someone suffering from drug addiction. I do not recommend this place for someone suffering from Binge Eating Disorder or mood-based disorders who might require more psychiatric therapy. I visited a family member here. Just wanted to send a big ol F YOU to Sierra Tucson again, as I continue to struggle in search for peace 3 years after my traumatic experience here. I love seeing SOME positive reviews about treatment. I went for their 4-6 days evaluation program to find out what was wrong with me. The first day was spent sitting in a waiting room for over 8 hours with no food, room, access to luggage for reading material, etc. I was finally checked in that night. The rooms are shabby - think Super 8 with no phone or TV - the food is so-so, definitely not gourmet, the grounds are pretty. They seemed to care mostly about the money. Had to move to a place in California. I expected to spend $40,000 on treatment. Turned into almost $60,000 so far. Said their treatment was not robust enough but charged me alway. Said I had to pay first and try to get a refund later. Money given them was retirement money.
