I wanted to come to this facility as it was recommended by my nurse practitioner. However, it was going to be "out of reach" financially for me. Honestly, I am appalled anymore at the cost of treatment for the mentally ill. I have tried to enroll in DBT and other programs, but it is as if they only service the rich. I actually have a MS degree and work in healthcare and am really discouraged by the high cost of treatment which makes treatment actually affordable for only the rich. I finally have lost hope and have concl... read more

As the paying family member of a patient, I got screwed by these people. It's a sham business. They care nothing about the lives of the children and spouses of their "patients" and will lie to get your money at your most desperate moment. I took out a loan to pay for their ridiculous fees in hopes that they were honest, helpful, good-intentioned people. I got screwed and so will you. BEWARE of Sierra Tucson and their dishonest doctors and staff. You are better off using the money to pay for your kids to go to college r... read more

Horrible place!!! Seriously a waste of money and completely made me worse. Lied, made false promises, provided no aftercare or family support. The communication was a joke, my family called to talk to Dr. Moyer daily and she refused to return calls or answer questions. I still have no diagnosis. The place is so big you can't get scheduled for required sessions, it's under staffed, and counselors are not well trained. After a week the group topic and curriculum are repeated and it has nothing to do with the treatment I needed... read more

What a laugh this place was. Dr. Moyer touts her credentials and her dissertation yet they're no where to be found. Just like any good predator, this doctor finds your vulnerabilities and uses them against you. They are all so afraid of their own shadows since the negative media due to their own negligence that they are still doing things wrong. The program they sell is not as advertised, buyers BEWARE! If you want luxury at the expense of understaffing and apathetic top dogs then fork over your money baby, and never mind ... read more

This is a long post, but I think you should read all of it. I spent 5 long days in Sierra Tucson, a rehab facility that also is supposed to treat PTSD and depression. Here are just the highlights: 1. A male patient hung himself to death in the residential lodge. We were offered no support, and at least one patient who knew him left against medical advice. 2. A supposed millionaire was brought into the hospital close to me in my area and surrounded by staff as he yelled and screamed for a phone to call 911 because he felt tha... read more

I am a parent of a patient who was involuntarily discharged after one week of therapy. I spoke with two psychiatrists, Dr. Moyer and therapist Joan-E, who were involved in the discharge, neither could recall specific events that led to the discharge. Neither of these people could speak from the file although both confirmed that there were complaints. Both retracted statements about my child saying that they really weren't sure what had happened. Both promised to send me a copy of his file and list of other programs at re... read more

I just saw an ad on TV for ST and thought I'd put my truth out there for anyone interested. I found ST in 2003 and suggested it to my ex who is bipolar. This place is run by idiots who don't know what they are doing. They lied to me and made promises they did not keep. They diagnosed my ex as "depressed" and "love addicted" and, while in their care, they allowed her boyfriend to communicate with her. Like giving an alcoholic a beer. If you need help, please find another facility where they have respect for the patients and ... read more

I attended Sierra Tucson in June of 2015. What a disaster. They were bought several months back and the buisiness side is a mess. You don't receive the treatments you were promised and they sign you up for activities you cant do. All the staff constantly send messages to scheduling and nothing changes. they keep saying "just give us a couple more days" So you do...and you do ot again and you just get frustrated and more depressed. They are dealing with peoples lives here and they don't care. They just want the money so they k... read more

I went to sierra Tucson in April of 2015 and left after a week due to their inability to schedule me for activities i could attend. you are given a colored bracelet which stands for what you can and cannot do. i was given a red bracelet by the doctor and could not do any physical activities or classes and no doctor could tell me why i was on the red bracelet (i am perfectly capable of all activities) and my schedule constantly had stuff on it that i would be kicked out of because of the color of my bracelet so i spent most d... read more
