Today was my first trip to Southwest Veterinary Hospital. I was impressed with how nice all of the staff were. I thought Dr. Hannah took great care with my pet and made sure I understood everything. He showed such care and concern. I'm new to Bakersfield, and I am really happy that I've found such a wonderful place to take my pets when they need care.

We don't have any kids, but our furbabies are everything to us! We wouldn't trust them to anyone else. The vets here genuinely care, are helpful, and don't gouge you for every penny. They do try to respect your budget and financial constraints. We actually strayed once to go to a vet closer to our home, it was a complete disaster, and will never stray again.

Update: we have continued to take our animals/kids here and they continue to exceed our expectations! They have been wonderful to all of our animals, and we have received extremely prompt service. All of our appointments have been handled on time (if not earlier) and they have always been willing to work us in (it's happened three times now). I've been to my fair share of vet hospitals because I have 3 cats and a dog. Every body at Southwest Vet are extremely friendly and helpful, most notably, Dr. Sunderson. He genuinely loves what he does and it shows. He goes over and beyond the call of duty to ensure the highest success for your four legged children. I highly recommend him!

I found this place on yelp! Only being about a mile away from where we live, its so convenient! The staff was very nice and I especially LOVE Dr. Clark! She is the one who examined my dog. She was very helpful and very informative with what we needed to know! This will definitely be our place to go! I recommend it!

I love their staff and the doctors there. When I first started to look for a vet for my husky I called ALL of the veterinary hospitals here in Bakersfield and found Southwest to be the best in price and they are convinently located near me (which is a good thing since my dog gets car sick). Once i arrived the staff there greeted me with wide smiles and were very helpful. I don't have a preference for a vet there since all of their doctors are amazing and super helpful. We moved to Bakersfield from the Bay Area and were sad to leave our awesome vet behind. When it came time to take Seymour to the vet for a check-up, we did a lot of research and asked co-workers about their vets. We decided to go with Southwest Veterinary Hospital. First I do want to say the doctors at this hospital are very good, that's why I go here. I have been taking my pets to this place for more than 20 years. And, I do know that Bakersfield is has a big shortage on vetrinary services, due to lack of veterinarians. However, the staff who tend to the many phone calls everyday could use some improvement on addressing this matter. Nobody should be made to wait on hold for more than 30 minutes!
