Honestly, this should be rated as ZERO stars! NRG sold my residential solar contract to Spruce back in late 2020 (I'm assuming). I can't provide the specific timeframe/month, because I didn't receive anything in writing until Spruce sent bills saying I was past due in my payment. Mind you, I have been paying NRG faithfully directly from the checking account (I have those records if I could ever reach anyone at Spruce) and never missed a payment. Spruce Juniper purchased my lease from NRG. I sold my home and transferred the lease to the new home owners in June 2020 and continue to receive bills from this company, it's been 9 months! I've provided them with ALL the necessary documentation twice, showing the lease transfer. They say that "they see the case", but nothing has changed in the last 9 months. Worst company ever! My originally solar company sold my contract to Spruce Finance, who never contacted me once within the first 5 months of the change. The first contact I had was an overdue bill and a notice of my delinquency would reflect poorly on my credit report. When I tried to call and email them the hold times were always over an hour and when I finally did reach a human being the call was disconnected. Additionally, emails were never responded to. I tried contacting this company after receiving a bill (1st Bill 3/2021) that stated it was past due and got a check from the company as well??? I finally reached someone, and when she picked up she did not identify the name of the company as Spruce so i did NOT give them my address, phone number or account number and when the person I spoke to told me i had to speak to the billing dept. she transferred me to a collections agency. I don't know how to get rid of this service anymore, i had no idea NRG sold out it's customers.... read more
Horrible company. Took over my NRG solar account. I can't get any answers about my billing. They've added $4.95 fee to my monthly bill with no explanation. No one answers the phone, online site is a joke with no way to contact anyone. Unless you try the email that never gets answered. Please BBB do something!
I agree with everyone else. This company took over my account from NRG. NRG was a great company. This one is a disaster. I spent 6 hours on hold to be hung up on saying I reached them after hrs which it was still their operating hours. I finally got my auto pay to work thru no help from them, NRG actually told me how things will go. Now my autopayment is not working and when I log onto the crappie web site it says it is changed and I need to re-register. It tells me my account doesn't exist. Worst company ever! Their billing date is the 15th of the month with a due date of the 1st of the month. The bill always arrives after the due date, I pay right away and they have the nerve to try to charge me a past due fee when I didnt even get the bill till after the due date. Have to always call them to reverse it and it takes for ever to get a person to talk with. They keep saying their payment portal is being worked on but that has been months and still not payment portal.
This company is in cahoots with SunSystem Technology in an apparent effort to scam people into solar sales using aggressive, dishonest, and abusive sales practices. I received repeated unsolicited calls and texts demanding I confirm an appointment for a "meter replacement". No solar company owns the meter on your house. The utility owns the meter. A bi-directional meter, or a PV meter, is installed as part of a solar electric system--so this is a nasty way of DEMANDING you allow them to come to your house for a sales pitch. ... read more
Every month have to call and wait on hold to pay bill because you can’t pay online. Current bill show that I still owe for months I have already paid for. terrible company, impossible to get answers when do you get someone to pick up.
