Spruce Finance is terrible. They have taken over the billing for our original solar company "NRG Home Solar". NRG was great. I'm now dealing with the 3rd billing cycle. Statement date is 1/15/21, arrived today 1/25/21. Statement states due on 2/1. I've just paid my original payment. I am not paying them their "Non ACH Fee" of $4.95. Been on hold with them for 75 minutes and still no one answers the phone. Spruce Finance are scam artists there system is designed to charge all their customers this Non ACH Fee. If I could give them no stars I would! Worst company ever! You cannot get through their customer service line. You can't log into any website to pay your bill. You are charge extra for non-ACH payments even though they give you NO opportunity to sign up for ACH payments. They take 2 months to email back and the replies have nothing to do with your original inquiry. I wish I had another finance option with my solar panels. They are terrible. I wish they had a Facebook or Twitter page so I could warn people to never use them.

I agree with everything that has been written about this company. When they bought our contract from SunServe Energy in September 2020 they dropped our ACH. We were not billed the first month and then received an invoice for two months. After that things got worse with them charging a "Non-ACH" fee (even though we had nothing to do with it dropping off and were not informed about it), a small late charge that should not have been charged to us, an increase in the lease amount and taxes, etc. My last attempt to get informatio... read more

Spruce bought my lease from NRG in October 2020. My bill has never been a set price from month to month since the switch. It started at $89.84 for October then went to $97.88 for November, and then the bill for December jumped to $200.71. I called them and was on hold until the call just ended which happened after waiting for two hours. I then emailed them on 12/28/2020 to the billing email listed on the bill and have yet to get a response so I can get a reason as so why my bill doubled for no reason. Horrible customer service, I hope nothing goes wrong with our equipment. I got a single response to my monitoring equipment not reporting (the monitoring web site's last update was over 2 months ago) and after that, no response. My mom has had a billing issue and they won't contact her back and she sat on hold way longer than I ever would yet because auto-payments are not being made, they are trying to charge her extra for that (even though with the previous companies transitions, it was NEVER a problem). This company sucks!!!! Been on hold multiple times for hours on end. My contract was sold to them by Sun Serve Energy, and since they got their money they don’t care either. I sold my home did the transfer to the new people, but the billing is still coming to me. No one ever answer the phone or responds to emails. I’m just going to stop paying. I’m sure they will contact me.

This company RARELY reaches back out to you. It does not matter how many attempts you make. We did not originally roll with this company, but they took over the original lease. We had damage to our roof from July 2019. We had to get a lawyer to get an agreement to fix our roof. Roof did not get fixed until March 2020. They did not do the complete job either. Spruce Finance purchased my solar lease from Omnidian on April 6, 2020. I have emailed them 5 times and called multiple times only to get the voicemail with the hopes that they will help me monitor the solar activity as I believe the system is no in working condition. They continue to ignore my emails and don't return my calls. I just want someone to contact me and help me get the system in working condition so I can monitor the solar power being produced.

I have a PPA contract with these guys. I signed up in December, 2017. I figured, how bad could it be? WRONG!! I am currently trying to get a billing statement out of Spruce Finance/Volta Solar/Energy Service Experts for month-end August, 2020. When I get a response they share only a portion of the info you ask about. In addition, their online panel monitoring has had no updates since 9-20-2020.
