Space is beautiful and the food was excellent. Noise level can be challenging do request quiet spot if you don't hear well in crowded environments. Service was very good although a tad rushed because they are so crowded right now.
Retro cool
This was our third time at the Commodore. Food was great, cocktails were creative and great, but the dining room was quite noisy. Nevertheless, we'll be back.
Going to the Commodore brings you back to a wonderful time in St. Paul but with the perfect addition of great, contemporary dining. The decor is beautiful and reminiscent of the 1920's art deco area. The service was excellent and helped with all of our menu choices. Some in our group had food allergies and they were gracious and helpful to accommodate us. The food was delicious. We will definitely go back.
we had our anniversary dinner at the Commodore and it was a great night. the staff was excellant, very attentive and informative. The specialty cocktails were wonderful. A great place for a an occasion.

Obviously, they had read th... read more
We've dined here several times and have always enjoyed the ambiance. They have been great with dietary accommodations and the manager Anthony has always been prompt with answering questions and helping to organize events and help with reserving larger tables they wouldn't otherwise do.
Our server for the evening of March 18th was so personable . She gave the impression we were guests in her home and she was very pleased to make us welcome. The menu is a bit limited but every bite was delightful.
Given the limited number of items on the menu (normally a good characteristic), I expected the food to be splendid. All three of us were "okay" with our entrees. My Mahi was extra dry. The service was okay. The server was professional, but made no attempt to acknowledge that it was my fiancé's 40th birthday, despite the fact that I called earlier in the day to remind the restaurant of the celebration and was assured that it was noted and that celebatory dessert would be provided. The server made no effort to acknowledge the ... read more
