Fabulous renovation of a St Paul landmark! While the menu is a bit tightly focused, every dish tried was spot on! Service was outstanding - Thank you Anthony!

Had read about the Commodore in the paper and wanted to try it. It's in our neighborhood. I was shocked to see that it was packed at 5:00 p.m. on a Saturday. This is a good sign. We were seated right away (had a reservation) and had to be out by 6:20 to make a show. Everything was timed perfectly - not rushed at all. There were 4 of us eating. Everyone really enjoyed their food and the service was excellent. We all agreed that we would return again as it was an excellent experience all around.

We had a great experience celebrating a birthday. The place was packed (7/8 pm Sat night) and lively. The restoration was well done. We found just enough historical info in the menu and on walls. Service was great. We are still dreaming of the fries, app. Ate the risotto and curried cauliflower and both were excellent. The cheesecake was light and lemony, like I like it, and the cherry was an excellent topping. We hope they rotate the menu. Two vegetarian dishes (excluding salads) so not much more for us to come back to try.... read more

It is a very limited menu and the food is very salty!

The food was interesting without trying to hard to be cutting edge. The server was great. I'll go back and just hang out in the bar sometime. Great fine dining and it would be great casual dining at some future time.

The setting is beautiful. The food, while good- really isn't to the level of so many new resturant establishments in the TCs. As for service- the bartender had an attitude and the waiter rolled his eyes at us when we requested a menu to decide on dessert. Thumbs down on service. We'll be back for drinks though!

The restored Commodore has retained its quintessential period bar and rehabbed the restaurant in character. Service is the best I have had in the Cities even tho' the restaurant was packed. Food selection is limited but all tasted was exceptional--our table ranged from burgers to rabbit (wonderful). Chocolate souffle for dessert topped off this celebratory dinner.
