If i could give this place zero stars i would! I lived at 230 babcock for 2 years, horrible experience. The heat never worked correctly, washers were always broken, cockroaches, and a homeless man who used to sleep in the front entrance! But the hamilton company on commonwealth ave was the worst problem. Whenever i had to deal with them i had to prepare myself. The staff was ALWAYS rude- especially Kayla. This is one of the most greediest company I have ever came across. My rent is increased 20% in last 1.5 years and they change there policies anytime they wish. Beware of them

I live in 11 Brattle Dr. in Arlington. The rent rises a lot, $70 increase per month every 12-month. Fixed lease length, you have to sign 1-year lease every year. Maintenance is terrible. Last winter, I had to contact the Arlington Board of Health to force them to fix the heating problem. My neighbors living upstairs cannot sleep in their bedroom, because of the loud noise of the heating system in that room. The management is terrible, the new manager on-site is not honest. I lived in one of their apartments for a year and as far as management companies go they did a pretty good job by my book. Maintenance was done pretty promptly and you always saw the Hamilton Company maintenance workers around the buildings so if you needed something in a pinch they were very responsive. The couple of times I did have issues I went over to their office to speak with Brandy who was assigned to our building. She was always very helpful and able to respond to our questions and concerns. I've been living at 81 Essex for almost a year now and cannot wait to move out. Like so many others, my list of complaints about the Hamilton Company is endless. I have to start with laundry because it is the most frequent annoyance and the situation has not improved since I moved in. The laundry units break down frequently and I usually have to put a load through the dryer twice if I don't want wet, stinky clothes (every wash is $1.75, and $2.00 per dryer load - it adds up). DO NOT RENT APARTMENT from Hamilton Company! I put one star because that is the least number of stars I can put. I am referring to 1144-1156 Commonwealth Avenue. I cannot wait to move out of my place. The place is filthy, mice constantly visit my bedroom and bite my bag besides my bed while I was sleeping. There's a smell within the building that just make you feel as if you were in a slum (or should I say I AM in a slum). There are a few things that they do well: They fixed everything we have asked them to fix... though to be fair, most of those things should have been in working order before we moved in... but it happens. Now, on to the reason they get 1 star. A mere month and a half into our 9-month lease, we got a renewal notification telling us that our rent, if we were to renew, would be $250 LESS than what we currently pay.
