I lived here for an year. The apartments are well managed and I faced no major issue over the course of the year. The management staff is very professional and repair requests are addressed as per the urgency of the issue. Once the refrigerator had some issues and it was replaced with a brand new one within 24 hours. The staff was very accommodating when I had certain special requests due to personal situation. Love my apartment. Not so impressed with maintenance. Constantly having to hound maintenance to do the jobs I request need to be done. Other than that I love the location of my apartment and the leasing agent was very nice and professional.
Great management company. I think the bad reviews are really old or maybe its just the location I was at, but I had a great experience. I have lived there for 3 years. I'll be leaving to move to a different part of Boston that Hamilton doesn't own anything in. 62 Boylston is awful building to live in. Do not sign a lease with them and make sure to read all these reviews. The fire alarm goes off all the time in the middle of the night, there are rodents, you wash your clothes next to trash and the machines do not work, the utility bills will be much higher compared to other managed buildings because this building is so old, and the leasing office is completely unprofessional. The rents are a rip off when you see what you get yourself into. Do not sign!!
Please don't try Hamilton. The worst apartment you could ever find. The maintenance and services are disgusting! Don't believe promises that sales person tell you before renting. Cockroaches are everywhere in the laundry room. Molds around windows in winter time.
Moving into my first apartment, I had no idea where to start. After weeks of struggling, I fell upon Christine Shane from The Hamilton Company and she was a huge help. Christine is the best! They don't return inquiry emails, never a good sign. Finally went to the office only to learn that they want a $200 deposit just to get on the waiting list. There are over a dozen negative reviews that Yelp has deemed "not recommended" but which you should definitely read before you take a chance with buildings managed by this company. Finding your dream apartment in Boston is no easy task. They say there's an easy way and hard way. The hard way is to do it yourself and the easy way is through a broker. This review which is based on my experience of living for 3 1/2 years in an apartment complex on Washington Street in Brighton, owned and managed by the Hamilton Company. They kept the building in good running shape and the rents below the market value consistently. I was especially very happy with the maintenance department as I could sends emails with requests and they would response the next business day at the latest.
