In 2014 we purchased our home and made on time payments 100% of the time, I called TMS in 2019 and asked if the insurance I was paying for the USDA loan could be stopped. I was told in a letter no I did not qualify for this option. I asked what would qualify me and got no reply. I then asked about refinancing from the current 4.75% to a lower rate which was 2.25% or maybe lower. Again no help was given. The money source is a scam company. They messed up our escrow twice now. Once in 2017 and again in 2020. They paid 2 year's worth of taxes out of our escrow both year's claiming the laws have changed yet failed to provide proof of that. Funny enough our county tax office sent me the tax laws and no where does it state what they claim. I sent them that information with (crickets) no response. Still waiting on that proof. The Money Source has been the nightmare to end all nightmares. They charge crazy late fees out of nowhere, refuse to cash checks you send and mail them back to you and add any fee they can think of and when you ask for a bill to legally justify those fees they send you an email that a child must have typed with no proof or documentation. The money source charged me $1500 to inspect my house while I was living there to make sure the house wasn't abandoned. What an awful company. My bank (unfortunately) chose to utilize The Money Source to service my mortgage. When I received the information, I tried to set up autopay. I've done that for years. I tried to set it up on the TMS website. Every attempt was rejected. I couldn't figure out why. So, I called Customer Service at TMS. After 20 minutes or so of waiting and hearing the same music, CS said that I wasn't eligible for autopay. I wasn't eligible because TMS intended to transfer servicing to another company. This company is horrible. I have tried to get a payoff for over a week now and still haven’t received help. I have waited an hour on the phone waiting to speak with a “customer ally” I’m so frustrated with this company. They have been nothing but trouble
TMS does not communicate well. However, there were so many things done wrong over the last 3 weeks that I gave up until I spoke with Liza. Fantastic. I would give TMS a 1 star but Liza a 10. It seems every time I talk to a rep or supervisor, it's at least a 1 hour lost of my life. She is attentive and understood my issue without many repeats of the situation. I received a letter on Apr 20 dated 7 April for a escrow review. My payment increased $142.00 that was to be included in my Apr 1st payment. My question is how do you send a letter for payment increased after the due date and expect the consumer is ok with it. When I called I was told that I had to get the extra payment in before the end of the month or it will be reported as a late payment. This is the most unethical company I have ever worked with. Please hurry and sell my loan to a more qualified mortgage.
TMS unfortunately purchased my loan when I bought the house in 2017, it has been nothing but problems and "mistakes" usually with no resolution from them, this latest issue is they said I had an escrow shortage so I paid it, my HOI went down taxes didn't increase from the last year but somehow they are now telling me my payment is increasing by over $100 after I had called and confirmed my payment would not change with multiple people, either someone is lying or they can't do math and the customer service is questionable mos... read more
