Unfortunately we don't get to choose who services our loan and I will never recommend TMS to anyone. I have suffered the same non payment of property tax issue that many people have experienced. It started when my account was not "marked" to pay taxes, even though they included taxes in my escrow payment every month. It is now two months late and it still has not been paid. When dealing with a mortgage company like The Money Source, you really need someone like Kristi Schleicher in your corner. After several phone calls with lengthy wait times close to an hour, and emails with no response, trying to get answers on a missed property tax payment from escrow, Kristi stepped in and solved things instantly. My experience with TMS is one star but Kristi’s prompt, professional and courteous results gets an enthusiastic five. They need more of her!
I'm very tech savvy but their website was impossible. i couldn't set up automatic payments. their phone line doesn't work on the weekends. so now i'm fearful my payment is past due. Better.com forced me to use these folks.
I can't believe I'm going to have to deal with this company for 30 years. I can't get through to anyone in customer service. I can't even set up autopay. I've wasted so much time with them. I don't know if I should have refinanced after all...
After reading all of the reviews I'm now Wondering what to do. We went on the forbarence program due to coronavirus. We had been one month behind due to a lay off from my job. I got another but wouldn't have a check in time so forbarence was what I was told would be the best option. I ended up being tested for coronavirus several times and had to be out from my son teacher being tested and so on. Was a never ending battle and no fault of our own. This company is a nightmare. My Mtg was sold and since then anytime I see an envelope From mtg company I cringe. Errors errors errors. Seriously thinking of refinancing locally because it’s been one thing after another. Do not recommend.
My loan got sold to them 4 months ago after a re-fi.. I pay extra every month and i have had to contact them EVERY month to get it fixed.. this month i sent $2500 on a $877 bill and less than 1k was taken off principle.. at this point i honestly believe i have lost thousands of dollars due to their mistakes... This company is terrible. First payment ever made was put into "suspense" and not credited to the account!!! 3 phone calls later it's still not resolved. Each "Customer Care Rep" puts in a request to have it taken care of and nothing gets done. Requests for Supervisor to call back go unanswered. "Care Reps" apparently work from home with TV, dogs, kids loud in the background. What kind of company is this??? Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.
Avoid this company if you have the choice. It took 12 weeks to resolve an escrow issue that we were told should take 4 weeks. In 30 years never had the need to use customer service at previous lenders but this was downright painful. Spent collectively more than 10 hours on the phone for something that should have taken them 30 minutes. Give your business to someone else that would appreciate it. I wish TMS would sell my mortgage to a company that is more customer focused.
