We got stuck with them via Better.com otherwise I would NOT do business with TMS. Their payment portal is a mess. I took a screenshot as evidence that I was processing my payment appropriately. I am always on-time with payments and saw that my automatic withdrawal was not scheduled until February 1st, so I made sure to schedule a one-time payment for January. What did they do? The Money Source was the initial servicer of my refinanced loan, however, they quickly transferred it to another company. But in transferring my loan, one of the payments I had made to TMS went missing, so the new servicer showed my loan as past due with an incorrect balance. I spent hours on the phone with both companies trying to straighten this out. Fortunately, my complaints eventually made their way to Kristi Schleicher at TMS. Similar issue others are having here: The Money Source withdrew a full mortgage payment from my bank account when they weren't supposed to, and said it will take "several weeks to process" before they "mail me a check." They're stealing money and holding it in their coffers. A complete and utter scam. After less than 30 days, they've already sold my loan to another company, so thankfully, I won't be there much longer. Refinanced with better.com and TMS was assigned to manage escrow. It has been painful to work with this company. I updated my home owners insurance bill on their directed website so that they can pay it from my escrow account. I uploaded the bill at least 2 weeks before the due date, still it wasn't paid after due date and I had to pay from my own pocket. My review is for Kristi in Customer Service. Without her quick response my rating of TMS would be 1-2 stars. My refinanced mortgage got transferred to Nationstar from TMS and I have received conflicting information on when and how to make my first payment. Come to find out I will not be able to even register my account until TMS does the actual transfer, 3 days after my first payment is due. Better.com's internal loan servicer (The Money Source) has been an absolute nightmare to work with. They have lost roughly $8,000 of my mortgage payments when transferring servicing of the loan. I am deeply concerned about the internal accounting and controls at Better.com and The Money Source. Initially I had a good experience, but it turned bad toward the end. I refinanced with Better.com and TMS ended up servicing my loan. Payments went smoothly, then I bought another home. I bought the new home through Better.com and it too was service by TMS. Here's where things started to sour. Whenever I called in to talk to representatives, they always ended up with the wrong loan, no matter which one I entered via their automated system. TMS sold our loan to another lender. Our new lender called us and said our payment was 2 weeks behind, which we paid a month ago with TMS. TMS is “looking into” what happened to the check they sent. The new lender has confirmed they have not received any payment. We made our payment a month ago. Please help.
