Good luck if you ever want to request a pay off for your mortgage! Well, actually, you'll get the pay off document, but after that, good luck. I've had two wire reversals because the account numbers TMS gave me weren't right. The agent I spoke with was clueless about what this number was supposed to be, and then when I thought it was finally right after the first reversal since (she got the number from her supervisor), along came the second wire transfer reversal. TMS sold my loan to Wells Fargo after the first payment, which included extra principle. Once the loan was transferred, TMS held that extra principle in a suspense account and never applied it to the loan balance on the scheduled date. As far as Wells Fargo knows, there was no extra principle payment made and TMS customer agents just say that it can take up to 60 days and to not worry about it. I got a refinance loan through Better Mortgage, who works with The Money Source ("TMS") and sells the final loan to TMS for final servicing. TMS failed to pay my property tax. Even though it was part of my disclosure statement, and even though they correctly collected the money from me each month for that purpose, when the critical time came to pay the tax, they simply didn't do it. I never write reviews, but damn. TMS sold my loan to Wells Fargo and stated that WF would be servicing the loan. Fair enough. TMS took a payment out of my account as well as WF, after they stated that they no longer are servicing the loan. After calling and asking why, and I'd prefer that they put my money back in my account, the run around started. Worst experience ever. Dealing with better.com and TMS has led to a high level of frustration. I never expected the lack of honesty and integrity. I’m not at all surprised by the poor customer reviews. This company should be shut down for mishandling financial accounts. Prepare for bait and switch. Customer experience is not a high priority even though it’s printed in their mission statement. They fail to deliver once the docs are signed. You will be disappointed.
Literally the worst mortgage servicer I have ever worked with. Most recently: I received a notice that my property insurance was not for address TMS has on record. Examining the address on record against the insurance policy, the addresses are identical. TMS has threatened to "provide a blanket policy on our behalf" if I do no correct this, but there is nothing to correct. I agree with all the other reviewers -- The Money Source (TMS) is horrible. I recently refinanced through Better Mortgage (better.com) and they sold my loan to The Money Source. TMS recently sent me a privacy policy with instructions for limiting information sharing and opting out of marketing material. This letter contained an envelope for return correspondence. The envelope they sent was too small to fit the 8.5" x 11" paper they intended us to send back. Their opt-out website is similarly flawed, with some of the checkbox... read more
These people are worthless! they double paid my city tax out of my escrow and then performed an escrow review stating I now have an escrow shortage.... saying i need to pay the shortage in full or roll the amount into my monthly payments. No, i am not paying extra for your mess up. I have called this company 6 times now trying to get this fixed and everytime i get a a different answer about them waiting for information from the city to my escrow account takes another 30 days to do the review again...
