I am so very impressed with Thrive and Dr. Smallwood! To attempt to make a long story short, my Jack Russell Terrier was diagnosed in the ER Vet with bladder stones. They were so severe, I was told she would need surgery to remove them. The ER Vet gave me a ridiculously high quote to perform the surgery. I took her home to price shop. I gave Thrive a call first thing the next morning, and they got my dog in THAT SAME MORNING for surgery. Ok - so I actually really love this place. One of my cats was very sick over the weekend and I had to take her to the emergency care Sunday night. The following day I scheduled a follow-up appointment with Thrive because she didn't show any improvements from the treatment she received. They were booked until Thursday but were able to squeeze me in as a drop off appointment that day. They took great care of my cat and called me every few hours to give me an update and explain what was happening. I picked her up that evening ... read more
The first vet I've taken my chihuahua, Hemlock Von Hellsing, to that did not just throw medication at him. They were also able to know to diagnose a torn ligament in his knee just by seeing the way he sits. I'll be back for a teeth cleaning in the next month. The cost is half of what I paid for my other dog, Dexter.
This place is where you should be taking your pets in Austin. Friendly people, affordable pricing and they care. Even though we are going through a hard time with my cat, they helped me feel like we are giving him the best care that we can and I wish I knew about them sooner. This is a wonderful place to go! My family and I moved here over the summer from out of state and needed to find a new vet for our pets. After reading reviews of many places, we decided on Thrive- and so happy we did! Not only are they affordable, but they are very up front about costs and will not go behind your back with procedures. Very impressed after our first visit with a new dog. We've always owned as many rescue dogs and cats as we could reasonably accommodate in our family; lately we've been down to one dog and two cats because the cost of routine vet care has gotten so high. Thrive charged a grand total of $42 for our new mastiff mix's first exam and shots. Doctor and staff were friendly, patient, and knowledgable. This place is amazing. It's so affordable and the staff is so outgoing and nice. I've been here for tapeworm medicine for my dog and once more for a vaccine for my dog. One time when I was leaving for a 3 week trip I realized a day or two before leaving that my dog needed a shot to stay at a kennel that I hadn't gotten him yet. I called Thrive and told them the situation. They had no availability but made time to squeeze me in. My dog got his Bordetella shot and he was able to stay at the kennel while I traveled for work.
Very knowledgable and caring staff. Addressed all my concerns and felt comfortable leaving. And quick as well!
