These people make it easy - and they care. One of my foster dogs needed to be neutered and out of the list of available vets the rescue group uses, I knew I wanted to use Thrive after hearing friends talk about their pawsitive experiences here. I called on a Monday, got the initial appointment for Wednesday and surgery was scheduled for Friday. Everything happens in the examination rooms. These guys were amazing. I'm brand new to Austin, and used Yelp to find these guys, and couldn't be happier. My dog had a few lumps on his chest, so I wanted to get them looked at to make sure they weren't serious. They checked the lumps I asked about, got him up to date on his shots and vaccinations all in about 30 minutes. The best part was he came back clean and healthy! I brought my 3 month old puppy to this vet for a cherry eye (prolapsed eyelid) along with additional hair loss around that eye. I called the office directly vs. making the appt online hoping they would have a sooner opening than the website stated, they did! I was so happy with our experience at Thrive! The waiting area is large, very clean, and open, so you don't feel like there are so many obstacles to try and get your dog to avoid. They quickly put us a in a room (as soon as the receptionist/vet tech was finished helping the last customer), so my dog had no chance to get into anything with any other dogs or cats. After moving from the burbs of Chicago to Austin, the big thing I was worried about was finding a vet that would rival the vet my dog Michael Jackson (that's his real name) would be comfortable with, and would also be comfortable on my pockets. After doing some google research, I found another vet (not mentioned) who was great, but they did not offer weekend hours or emergency procedures. Let me start off with the Good.... very affordable I took my pup in for an ear infection,medication, check up, nails trimmed, blood work and rabies vaccine and it was all less than $200! Full 5 stars. Called to make an appointment for my German shep puppy, at 76 pounds just under a year and a half old. Was quoted between 130 and 150 for the entire visit, ended up paying 142 out the door even with some unforeseen complications and some extra meds we didn't know he needed, this has never happened, to my knowledge, at any vet office I've been to. they actually charged me what they quoted. This has been one of the worst experiences at a vet I've ever had!! I had to take my cat to the ER because he was having some medical issues. They told me it was fine to wait till the next morning took him here. Waited 5 days to get our lab results but was promised 24-48hrs. The medicine was extremely overpriced so I put in an order on Chewy which the doctors at thrive told me they would approve same-day.
