I used to bring my 2 cats here when I lived in SLC, and they always received great care. The prices always seemed reasonable. However, once I moved to another state I called University Veterinary Hospital to have them forward one cat's medical records to my new vet. No big deal you would think, eh? Think again. My cat was scheduled for a dental cleaning and possible extraction, and my new vet really wanted to see the records from his previous dental work, including the x-rays. So I told University Veterinary Hospital to se... read more
I could not be more pleased with the care and attention that was given to our ridgeback ,Titan, and my husband and I this morning. We were greeted instantly and seen by the technician in only a few minutes. The tech (Shay?) was very helpful. As for Dr. Walton, She was by far the selling point for me. She was extremely patient with all of my questions which means a lot as I really hate it when I forget or elect not to ask something bc I feel rushed. As for the price, I am not sure what everyone is complaining about. Is it hig... read more
Love the people, facility and service. Only negitive is they are usually more expensive then other locations... sometimes several hundred dollars more. Neuter for our dog was quoted at almost $500... found less then $300 at several other places. Great people though.
I recommend this vet, to everyone and anyone. They truly care about your pets that you bring in. they care about the animals health, happiness, and wellness. They care about saving animals lives, and keeping them healthy so they live long happy lives. They care about the animals' mental, emotional, and physical health. They are friendly, helpful, compassionate and care about your needs and the needs of your pet. I have 4 two month old puppies, when one of the puppies got attacked, and they had just closed and locked their do... read more
Yup, this place is overpriced. It's overpriced even compared to my old vet in Brooklyn. And, yup, that seems weird and unnecessary. But University Veterinary Hospital is pretty much worth it. The staff are always friendly and responsive, the technicians (especially the stellar Elaine) are careful to both explain what's going on and make you/your pets feel comfortable, and the veterinarians I've seen have consistently been top notch. Most recently, one of the veterinarians tracked me down with calls to Mexico and an e-ma... read more
All the vets & techs I have seen are very good with my cats and can keep them calm. It is a very professional and clean clinic and offers lots of treatment options you can't find other places. So far, I have always been able to get an appointment within just a few days of calling, which I appreciate very much. I also really like their hours- they are open early and late, so I don't have to miss work for a vet appointment. The one problem I have is with price. I understand that they have really good equipment and a very nic... read more
Plus: incredibly knowledgeable and compassionate. They have made quick and accurate diagnoses with some tough illnesses for our dogs. When our golden retriever was dying of osteo-sarcoma the doctor was there for us every step of the way. She even came in on her day off to talk us through euthanizing our dog. The waiting area is clean and spacious, making it easy to keep poorly-socialized pets (like our other dog) away from model citizens. Techs and vets are all courteous and prompt in their service, and they even keep chocol... read more
We first turned to University Veterinary about 15 years ago, after a not-so-good experience with a different vet, and our various dogs and cats have had wonderful, compassionate (maybe we should say "loving") care from everyone there. They all seem to know every animal who comes in the door. Even when I drop in unscheduled to check a dog's weight and snitch a chocolate chip cookie, the pet is greeted by name, usually before they notice I'm there too. The veterinary doctors clearly provide great training to the tech staff and... read more
After reviewing and considering many vet's offices in town, my boyfriend and I decided to take our purebred Singapura kitty to University Vet Hospital for his neutering. We were more than happy with the treatment given to our baby. Upon calling just for an estimate for the surgery, they said $200, which is steep, yes, but since we consider our little guy a family member as well as an investment since he was so expensive in the first place, we decided quality over saving money was the way to go. I called them on a Tuesday, a... read more
