They were extremely un organized, didn't give pricing only estimates. Which were way off. Forgot to give me her meds and then was rude when i had to go back to pick them up. The main lady was extremely blunt and rude saying she needs this this this, can we get the results back before we jump into anything please. Our pets are worth it... ok well yes but i dont have thousands saved up. It was bad enough it was so much without knowledge. Wont be returning.

This was my family's vet for a few years. Used to be a great place to take the pets, then prices started to skyrocket & their customer service deteriorated quickly. So many young young kids working at their front desk that it feels more like a Starbucks than a professional medical establishment. The actually veterinarians & vet techs are good people who know their stuff, but the organization & their methods have become not so great over the course of the last decade or so.

Telling me they need a "quality of life exam " on my 12 year old dog who has been having seizures and incontinence, before they will be a euthanasia. Really, you're going to charge me $50 extra dollars ?! This clinic has sucked since Dr. Macklevenna left. Don't go here. They only care about money. I made this appointment last month and no one said anything about an exam like that. Since when is it not your choice of what's best for YOUR dog. Seriously. Crooks!!!

Worst vet in salt lake! Save your money and go elsewhere. They overcharged me, took x-rays that I didn't ask for, and almost $600 dollars later they couldn't even tell me what was wrong with my pet. I called the next day to speak to their office manager and she was busy. I called about 8 more times and never got a response... it has been 3 months and still nothing.

I have been going to this dog treatment space for many years. I took my dog Kaya to be spayed when she was 2 years. We were informed by her vet that this was not necessary and she would be fine. At nine years of age, she became extremely ill and had to be spayed. This is one incident that cost a great deal of money. The second dog, Girlygirl became ill and we took her in. She was treated by Jessica Zelink, CVM license #7352329-2801. Jessica sent our Girlygirl home, despite the animal needing treatment and oxygen. Our dog die... read more

Updated review. I loved this hospital when I first came. Dr. McIlvenna was great, the techs were experienced and sweet. The past 2 years everything here has gone consistently downhill. They're impossible to get through to on the phone--10+ minute waits on hold multiple times. They don't refill prescription requests from the pharmacy unless you hassle them yourself, which is hard to do if you can't get through. I was willing to pay a premium for how great they were with my dog, but last year a new young vet was so insulting t... read more

I have called the University Veterinary Hospital three times today responding to an email to remind me to schedule an appointment for my cat. All three times I was asked if I could be on a short hold. My calls were 45 minutes to an hour apart. The hold was not "short" and each time I elected to call back at a later time. Each time I was placed on hold before I could even respond to their request. I've taken my animals to this clinic for years, but have never experienced anything like this before. There are many other Veterin... read more

We just recently moved to the area and found University Vet on Yelp. Our first interaction with was just fine. Our dog had been feeling unwell. It took a week to get in, but we found a bacterial infection, got the meds, and we were back on our way to being a perky pet. However, our dog broke a molar on a Friday evening. We went in first thing on Saturday, during business hours, to have someone have a look and tell us what to do. As in -- should we go to emergency facility or was this an issue that could be dealt with at an... read more

AVOID THIS CLINIC! PREDATORY PRICING! This is a true ZERO star business. We tried this clinic for almost 2 years as we relocated to SLC. Unbelievably high prices and terrible customer service. Our last (and final) visit we had a terrible interaction with Dr. Howard. We asked to be contacted by management for a follow up on our bill. They have yet to respond, which has partially led to this review. Please support other vets in SLC.
