As a devoted animal lover, I would like to share my positive experience over the last 10 years with this excellent neighborhood animal hospital. I have always been extremely impressed with the time and patience both Dr. Lawson and Dr. Moussa extend at each appointment and the genuine care and guidance given to my 10 year lab mix. They make every effort to really get to know you and your pet and are extremely accommodating. The entire West Hills Animal hospital staff are warm, friendly and very knowledgeable. My doggy recent... read more
If you care about your pet, you would go directly to Dr. Moussa. I've trusted her with the health and care of my dog for nearly 2 years. I've recommended others to her, and will continue. Let's face it, we are all so busy to take time out of our daily lives in order to write a review. Typically we do it under two circumstances: 1. Really good treatment/services. 2. Really poor treatment/services. Dr. Moussa needs to be your pets veterinarian. I will continue to take my dog to her. He is happy and so am I!

I can't begin to express how happy I have been for the past 5 years with the EXCELLENT care that my cat, Allie, has been receiving at West Hills Animal Hospital. Dr Moussa and Dr Lawson are EXCELLENT veterinarians... caring, compassionate, intelligent, and totally dedicated to the care of the animals that they treat. The office staff are very respectful, warm and caring. The veterinary technicians are very professional, caring, gentle, warm, and loving with the pets. My cat was recently diagnosed with congestive heart f... read more
Excellent service, detailed information, caring attitude, worked out an excellent payment plan for us! I can't say enough positive things about my experience at West Hills Animal Hospital, their caring staff and dedicated doctors. I came in for the first time under the most challenging circumstances. My Chihuahua, "Foxy" (1 year old) mysteriously started to vomit and then passed out. I drove to West Hills Animal Hospital because it was closer than my vets office hoping they would see her immediately. I ran in with Foxy wi... read more
I have had 4 dogs under the care of Dr. Lawson and West Hills Animal Hospital for the last 18 years. I wouldn't THINK of going anywhere else. If you're shopping for a Veterinarian by price, you shouldn't have a pet. What you look for in a Vet, is: "Will they be there, and accomodate me, in a time of need?" "Will they explain in detail, and make sure I understand my treatment options, yet leave the ultimate decision to me, without feeling swayed?" "Will they in fact have different options to choose from in a given situation... read more

Pet Owners Beware: A Costly Experience at West Hills Animal Hospital Same dog, same day--two very different veterinary experiences. I initially took my dog to West Hills Animal Hospital, where I paid $328 for an X-ray. They then recommended an additional $480 for a radiologist to read the X-ray. However, when I received the treatment plan, the cost listed was $376--contradicting what I was told verbally. West Hills Treatment Plan: $1,480-$1,708 * $325 for an X-ray (reasonable for a dog showing signs of bloating). * $1,3... read more

I was told after two and a half year that my dog died of heart failure that I still owed 550.00 for what they did to the dog back then When the dog got sick they just sent me to the hospital didn't even saw it for a minute They said it was part of a treatment I never paid for when you can't come out of the clinic without paying the last cent I told them I would pay to avoid issues but I feel like I was ripped off I'm tired of walking g out of that place owing so much money I'm done with them

Please read my previous rating as I cannot add on to it. My dog also had an ear infection. Since I took him home, I noticed his hearing got worse. This place agreed to refund the $700 for misdiagnosing my dog's obvious ruptured patella tendon. They admitted they got it wrong. My dog also had an ear infection. They refused to refund my dog's infection procedure. Ointment in his ear was put in two weeks ago and still hasn't improved. They told me I was supposed to have a two week check up, which was not the case. They told me ... read more

Jodi, We send you our utmost sincere apologies for this unfortunate situation. We understand how you feel and we are currently working with our Radiologist to get additional information regarding your case.
I adopted a seemingly healthy kitty last June. I was told I would pay a certain fee for all the shots and procedures and that's it. However, upon returning to follow through with the spay ( price included in the initial adoption) I was told I needed to pay more money for further tests. I was not informed of this prior however I paid the fee and they said she was good to go (spay) but surprise surprise now I needed to pay for the spay. I took her to Petco and they found a heart condition, something this place did NOT inform. ... read more
Business response:
Raul, We are deeply sorry to hear about your kitty's heart condition. Heart conditions can develop in little time, some normal cats may have an intermittent heart murmur that shows up when they are stressed. The last time she was examined here was about 5 months ago and everything was normal. Regarding the spay, we communicated to you back in July 2023 that the spay needed to be scheduled within a 4-5 month post adoption at no charge but unfortunately it was not scheduled.
