My husband and I have been taking our dogs here for 15+ years. The doctors and staff here all know our two pits and give them the best possible care. We usually see Dr. Gerards or Dr. Lawson and both are amazing. I cannot say enough kind things about the staff here, because they are so great with our dogs and give them the best care. From emergency surgeries to ear cleanings they have done it all and have always worked with us. I would highly recommend them!!

My dog was bit by another dog at dog park. Called two other vets and this was the one who said come in right away! The other two vets: 1 said completely booked, make appt tomorrow. The other vet squeezed me in 1-2 hours later. As you can imagine, my pup was attacked and bleeding so I needed to see a vet ASAP. I just say 3 stars because I have been a bit unsettled by the handling of my senior PomChi. She was examined the first time and while they were thorough, she came out limping and unable to walk properly on her back legs because they pulled too hard! Maybe I should have stopped going at that point but they are close to my home and I thought it might have just been her being a bit old. I cant speak for everyone at West Hills Animal Hospital. In my opinion Dr. Gerards is the best. She truly cars about your pet (four legged family member). She insist on providing great care, while keeping her eye on the overall treatment cost. She is surrounded by a supportive, knowledgeable, and truly caring staff. Our pets are comfortable the minute we park the car, always eager to go inside. Not always the case with some animal hospital / office experiences in the past. When our pets are happy we are happy.

As I read through some of the other reviews, most negative ones are from people who feel that this vet is expensive. Granted, pet ownership is not inexpensive and there are probably less expensive places, BUT you would be hard pressed to find another vet clinic that cares about your pet like the doctors here. Completely out of left field our 11 year old havanese started to have problems with her food, or so we thought. My parents and I have been taking our dogs here for years. Recently my parents brought our border collie in because she was chewing up her legs a lot. This is an on going condition which our dog has been seen here before for. (In the summer time she lays in the bushes and her hind legs her itchy. Usually they give us a medicated shampoo). This time the vets said she had severe flea bites. My dad had the groomer over the next morning and she didn't see any flea bites, eggs or fleas. Dr. Gerards is the BEST! She's cared for both our dog and cat. She's knowledgeable and very compassionate. We drive from Simi Valley just to have her treat our animals. I highly recommend this clinic!

I really appreciate that the doctor did not try to rush me out of the office and took the time to answer questions about my dog.
