This place is terrible and dishonest. Money doesn't keep dogs healthy; good Vets keep dogs healthy. Gerard gave unreasonable advice about a simple ear infection, of course, at the highest cost. She had me purchase treatments in advance! Crazy or what? Assuming and nickle and dime-ing me through her costly treatment, that was way overkill.. The condition went away as a result of dietary changes 2 weeks later, and now I'm stuck with a 1500 bill, of which I have not received goods for.. Why treat the dog if unessessary? No... read more

UPDATE How sad that we live in a time when people just want to take advantage of others instead of just being honest and doing the right thing. WEST HILLS ANIMAL HOSPITAL, you thought you could rip me off again, WRONG! My bank just reversed the ENTIRE charge to my account!!!!!!!!!! It seems this is not the first complaint against them for adding charges that were not necessary but also for services that have not been approved by the owner, and so it was reversed. DR. LAWSON is a complete crook who doesn't care about the ... read more

The vets themselves seem to be great so this review is strictly regarding their support staff. I have been bringing my puppy into this animal hospital since he was 7 weeks old. I brought him in today to get microchipped (he's 8 months old now) and when I arrived the tech asked me if I was there for a wellness visit. I responded, no, I'm here to have him microchipped which is what I told the front desk when I scheduled the appointment. She said ok, took my puppy and out came the vet asking whether or not I wanted to have ... read more

I started bringing my little puppy here when I first got her. She started having some serious health problems and instead of trying to fix it and help her get better, they just kept giving her more and more medicine Which only made her sicker and she is now in the hospital. I do not recommend taking any animal here. IT IS SCARY ON HOW LITTLE THEY DO CARE.

Took my dog there as he had what looked like a sore or trauma on his nose- did not seem that bad. Vet comes out tell me it's does not look good, possible cancer or lupus. Says because it's on the nose they can't remove and will need chemo. Than says he needs to biopsy and has room later that afternoon to put him under anesthesia and take biopsy.Than says his teeth are dirty and can clean while they do biopsy. says it's about$1900.00 i'm freaking out- take him to another vet and they say it's none of that, clean it, put neosp... read more

Business response:

Hi Greg, Everyone at West Hills Animal Hospital is so glad that Oakley is doing better. And we all know just how stressful it can be when your beloved pet is't feeling well. Unfortunately, without running some diagnostic testing on the mass on Oakley's nose, there is just no way to know exactly what it may be. When we send a cell aspirate out to our laboratory, their specialists carefully study the cells under the microscope and then send our doctor a report of their interpretation of the cells and what the best course of ac... read more

What a shame. Let me begin by offering their cookie-cutter reply that they will copy and paste out to me from my complaint, "[insert client name] we understand that veterinary care can be costly, which is why we always try to accommodate our clients to the best of our ability. We offer a variety of treatment options so that you may select a less costly alternative, if possible, so please don't hesitate to voice your concerns to your veterinarian during your next visit. We aim to provide you with the information and education... read more

Worst experience I have ever had at a vet office. Front office employees rude and disrespectful!!!!! Hope that your pet does not get sick. They will make you do a plethora of unwarranted tests before they finally give you a diagnosis. I rarely write reviews but the rudeness of both their office manager, Rochelle and receptionist, Lauren was offensive, abrasive, aggressive and obnoxious, I really want to warn others not to go here. I had just brought my dog in the week before. The meds prescribed were not working. The front d... read more

I went for a routine vaccine and was quoted over $500 for various tests and problems and did not get the vaccine. I declined some of them but I should have walked away. They seem professional but they are way overpriced.

Business response:

Hi Max, we are sorry to hear you were not satisfied with your pet's visit. We aim to provide the highest quality of care to your furry friend and are saddened that you felt otherwise. Someone from our team will be contacting you shortly.

I would never recommend going there. My friend has been bringing his pet there and his pet is nothing but skin and bones and the vet thinks the animal is normal looking. I am trained in the veterinary field and these people are nowhere near trained to to think an animal is healthy looking when their coat is dull, they are very thin, and they keep vomiting. It doesn't take a scientist to know there's something wrong with an animal.

Business response:

Catherine, West Hills Animal Hospital takes feedback seriously. We would appreciate if your friend could call 818-888-8111 to discuss this matter directly. We are located at 6402 Platt Avenue in West Hills. The description in this review does not resemble the veterinary protocol implemented and used at our practice. In case you were not aware, there are 2 West Hills Animal Hospitals in the San Fernando Area. Could it be that your friend visited the other West Hills location which is not affiliated with our practice? We look ... read more
