I have to say that Dr. Lucy O'Byrne is by far and away the best veterinarian I have ever had the pleasure to work with. She really helped my dog through her senior years and I just made another appointment for the new addition to my family. I can whole heartedly recommend her for any case even one as complicated as mine.

Business response:

Thank you for sharing your kind words, Jeff. We are glad to hear you have enjoyed a positive experience with our hospital and staff. Dr. O'Byrne and the rest of the staff thank you for your recommendation and hope to continue providing your pet companion with the best possible veterinary care.

West Village Veterinary Hospital is a godsend. When my dog Harper had a seizure at 7:30AM one morning, it was an absolute nightmare. I considered going into an emergency vet 24 hour clinic and hesitated at the thought of the 5k price tag. I called WV Vet right after it happened and they got Harper in for the first appointment of the day at 8AM sharp. I could not be more thankful! Harper was able to be checked out fully, bloodwork processed and other tests done within the hour. The clinic is extremely clean, the receptioni... read more

Business response:

Thank you for kind words, Michelle. We are happy to hear we were able to treat Harper and that your furry loved one is doing well. On behalf of the veterinarians and entire staff, thank you for trusting us with Harper's care and we hope to see you again soon!

West Village Vets are so caring- both for the pets and the owners. My 17 year old dog recently lost use of his legs, and eventually we had to put him to sleep. Dr O'Byrne gave him acupuncture for the last month he was with us. It helped tremendously. It brought back some mobility for a while and seemed to make him overall more comfortable. She was very supportive and caring of me while I went through the process of getting to the point where I could let go of him and feel 100% confident it was the right decision. She a... read more

Thank you for your kind words. Our job is not always an easy one, but it is loving and responsible pet owners like you that make what we do so worth it. We are glad to hear Dr. O'Byrne and Dr. McCready were able to make this difficult process a little easier for you. Please know that our thoughts and sympathies are with you during this time.

I appreciate their concern and time. I found out that my cat has symptoms of cold around 7 pm ( most of hospital are closed around that time). I made many calls to find some vet available to see my cat. Thanks to West village Veterinary hospital. They accpeted me so I went there with my cat. Health check is finished after the time they are supposed to close the door. All staff looks fine. No one was upset for being overworking. I got impression they really do care about animals. Not every vets do like them.

Second time I have used this office location in two years and must shout out a KUDOS to the entire team there! Unfortunately I seem to only show up when its an emergency, but in both cases, Dr. McCready and her staffers have been kind and understanding. Called at 9am on a Sunday and was given an apptmt for 10:30am. Had to get Dept of Health approval, but it was seamless for me as Dr. McCready took care of the red tape, constantly keeping me aware of what was happening. Thank you to such a compassionate and wonderful team!

I have been taking my Black Lab to West Village Veterinary Hospital, on and off since 2010. Every time I take her to another vet, I am disappointed and do not receive the quality of comprehensive care that my now 10 my year old Lab receives at West Village Vet. They have operated on her for removal of non-malignant large tumors, and helped her recover from a very bad, infected neck bite, after a dog attacked her last Summer. Now they are treating her for Hip Dysplasia with the same nurturing, care and concern as they always ... read more

I have three cats. I take all of them to West Village Veterinary Hospital for all of their health care. Dr. Julie Jones is my vet. She is great with my kitties. She seems to be very dedicated to pet care. For the few issues my cats have had, I feel like she was able to diagnose the problem quickly, and the remedies didn't cost a fortune. I don't feel like they are always trying to push expensive dianostics on me unnecessarily and I feel my animals' best interest is their main concern, not how much they can bill me. I... read more

I brought my cat Starshine to see Dr. Sarah McCready just before Christmas. We arrived in a snowstorm. Starshine was very nervous. The staff was so kind and made us feel welcome. Dr. McCready was able to determine Starshine ' s condition and probably saved her life by getting her on the proper medicine and diet for her liver condition. Now Statshine is eating again and really frisky. She plays with her brother Ringo and seems like a much happier healthier cat! I am so grateful for the care and attention Dr. McCready and... read more

They are a god send! We are first time puppy parents and they will answer questions via phone and email so we aren't paying $90 visit fee (New York vets are silly expensive everywhere so it's hard to give 5 stars) for every little thing we aren't sure if we need to come in for. Honest and communicative - so thankful for them! They do try to give you extra services or medicine or things sometimes but I think it's genuine care not trying to sell you extra stuff. And they don't judge you if you pass.
