Scan to web missing functionality I purchased this for two reasons: I was under $300, and it advertised that it would scan directly to Google Drive without needing to be hooked to a computer. While it will technically do exactly this, features such a blank page detection, auto-orientation (making sure the top of the document is at the top of the pdf), and anti-skew (what ever its called, the feature that aligns the pdf if it feeds in slightly crooked) DO NOT WORK when you scan directly to G Drive. Don't get this scanner if you want to scan long documents. I got this scanner to scan long format documents (receipts and such) because they specifically advertised that feature. Save yourself the trouble and don't get this one because it doesn't work. Regular documents scan OK.
NOT WORTH IT AT ALL! Since my first posting I have had it destroy 2 more docs and repeatedly attempted to scan an executed contract only to have it misfeed and destroy the signature page. Lousy document feed scanner for 1-sided or 2-sided scanning of documents. Problem with feed guides that do not keep document aligned resulting in document slippage and bad copies. One Star Software on Apple OSX CONSTANTLY CRASHES. DO NOT BUY THIS CRAP
Missing Parts I own and like the scanner and bought one for my mother as a gift. The box did not contain the user guides or the software CD, and the scanner was missing the page separator. The box didn't look like it was opened though. I didn't want to ask her to return it, so I bought a page separator for $10. (The OEM one costs $30!). This scanner has been a PITA. Edit 7/2018. Scanner has been working great ever since.
One of the worst purchase I have made. It has connectivity issues, it has autofeeder issues, it has scan quality issues. I can't really say a single thing that it does well. 1. The connectivity issues started with it having a hard time connecting to my wireless network. I gave up on that and decided to live with it and just connect it via cable. One Star Bad buy
Nice features but I often want to throw it out the window I've owned this scanner for about a year and use it to scan personal documents like bank statements. I typically batch up a small pile of stuff and scan it all about once a month into Google Drive. From there I rename and lightly organize the files and can shred a lot of paper. This scanner is small and reasonably portable which is nice. The scanning quality is more than sufficient for my needs and it's plenty fast (as I don't have huge stacks to scan). Buy something else Worked fine at first (setup was a bit of a pain) but one month later and one week later the scanner is crumpling paper and now the remote connection is failing. It's been over a month so Amazon is declining to allow a return. Buy the Fujitsu ScanSnap instead (had one at the office and it worked great for years.)
