I took my dog here for two years after adopting him, and the whole team at AVH provided excellent care. They successfully treated his heartworms and neutered him. I called several times to determine whether a visit was needed, and they provided counsel on the phone that a visit probably wasn't necessary--rather than having me come in just so they could charge for another visit. PROS: - I've seen both Dr. Cao and Dr. Dockrey and both have been extremely kind and patient with my pup (the vet techs too!). I have a rescue who's sweet but extremely fearful of strangers and becomes aggressive when she feels threatened. Such a good experience here today! My pal Arvin has been scratching at his face, and I was getting worried that something serious was going on. Austin Vet Hospital was able to find me a same-day appointment, which I was really grateful for. Arvin also struggles a lot with anxiety, and basically acts a fool whenever I take him to a vet facility. He hides in the corner, whines, refuses to walk.. it's not easy even getting him in the door. I recently moved to Austin and was in the search for a new vet for my pup, Sadie. I'm so thankful I came across Austin Vet Hospital as they were incredible with Sadie and were able to fit me in for an appointment next day. Dr. Faggioni and Juliette took their time getting to know Sadie, who can be quite shy at first, and by the end she felt very comfortable with them. What are fantastic place! I took our cat there for the first time today and I was really impressed. Christine Cao is a great vet. She spent a lot of time with me sharing information and strategizing on getting to the root cause of my cat's constant itching. Terence the nurse was very good too. And, the crew at the front desk--Kendal and Jes were also very professional. I'm most impressed by the thoroughness and rigor applied to problem-sovling. Also, they never rushed me. I recommend the place.
Each vet I've seen here is incredibly intelligent and sweet, and that goes for the vet techs and front staff too. Really grateful that this hospital is in my neighborhood.
Dr. Palvino ended up being our regular vet. He is caring, compassionate, incredibly knowledgeable and the staff is equally as wonderful. We have moved from Austin and now live in Seattle. While, our vet is fine, we miss Austin Vet. Our dog actually couldn't wait to get into the door of the vet. We have never experienced this anywhere else. Dr. Palvino and his staff saved our dogs life. And they tried their best to help our cat. Austin Vet also carries high quality meds and foods. We've already been here three times this year, with two of those visits taking place just this week! Such is the life when you have a furry family. Rather, such is the life when you have my furry family, a.k.a. a bunch of little assholes who like to cause trouble and beat each other up. The first two visits were for the dog, Graham.
