This place is great. The staff truly care about the animals. My dog had horrible flea allergies and the vet called me the day after I brought him in to check on him. Dr. Palvino and his team are great. I would tell anyone to go here.
After years of long waits and expensive bills at lake austin animal hospital, I had to jump ship. I was referred over to austin vet hospital, and haven't looked back since. They provide excellent care for my sweet lab, Kayda. From the staff at the front desk, to the vet techs, everyone is so sweet and professional. Dr. Palvino has been awesome!! Austin Vet Hospital not only provides outstanding veterinary care, but they do so in a friendly, courteous and professional manner. Dr. Palvino in particular is the only vet in Austin that I would take my dogs to. Dr. Palvino always makes my husband and I feel as though each one of our pets is important and special. He doesn't hesitate to sit down on the floor to comfort a nervous puppy or take extra time to let my older dog get comfortable before working on her. Once again, they do not fail to impress! My puppy's eye looked infected so I called Austin Vet Hospital. They squeezed me in for the same afternoon with a different vet. He explained everything to me and was very detailed. We were in and out in 20 minutes. I received a call the next day to check on our puppy and ask if I had any more questions or concerned! Keep it up guys!!

She was so thin and almost completely bald from her mid back up her tail :(. In between sobbing from kitty heartbreak, as I currently did not have the funds to rush her off the the vet, my boyfriend help me call around. Even though I am a very regular customer (my dog is a bit of a mess) I was unable to get into my regular vet and I didn't want to wait until the next day... I called and they were able to work me in within the hour! My boxer had gotten into a cat fight and about 24 hours later, one of her ears was red, swollen and hot to the touch. They were very helpful and entertained several treatment options and we both settled on an option (which wasn't the most expensive). Our cat Chloe has visited the Austin Vet Hospital several times over the past two years, and has seen all four of Drs. Palvino, Besch, Schaubert and Cao. Their service has been consistently superb. We have never had to wait to be shown to an examination room, the vets are all friendly and calm with our cat, and our questions are always answered. Their location is also convenient from central Austin, and the new building is great. We are moving away from Austin, and we will miss visiting the Austin Vet Hospital.
Austin Vet Hospital has been wonderful! I am a college student and had never raised a dog away from my parents help, but about a year ago I got a puppy and started researching the best vets in Austin. Austin Vet Hospital had great reviews on Yelp, was close to campus, and had reasonable prices that even a college student could afford. My pup has been seeing Dr. Palvino for everything from regular vaccines to upset tummies and he has been WONDERFUL! While I wish I was writing this review with a better situation I do want to say that, even though my experience with Austin Vet Hospital was limited, I had a great experience. AVH was recommended by a co-worker of mine and I made an appointment for my beagle Lucy to get her annual check-up as well as get a dental estimation. First the estimate I received was fair and very upfront, second the attention that I received from the staff here was great.
