We've already been here three times this year, with two of those visits taking place just this week! Such is the life when you have a furry family. When my wife moved to East Austin with me, we were looking for a new vet for several reasons. 1. We had a dog that was in her last weeks/days 2. We had a young really adventurous dog. Well, Dr. P and the team have been great to us. We said goodbye to Boo last year. Everyone was really nice and considerate. We had some private time to ourselves with Boo before she was put down. I really can't say enough about AVH. First, even though I started going there when they were at the old location, the new facility is gorgeous, clean and well-appointed. I have 3 dogs and Dr. Palvino has been a great doctor in all kinds of situations. When I got a dog from a breeder (which I will never do again) he did the initial assessment and spay. When I rescued my other two, he was there from the beginning, letting me know what to expect. He's gentle, personable and his obvious love of animals shines through. The front... read more

We had an emergency with one of our cats, and luckily they were able to see her right away. My fiance' and I have both had prior horrible experiences with vet clinics trying to financially take advantage of an emotional situation, which left us without a trusted family vet during a medical emergency. Emancipet (who vaccinates our pets) recommended this clinic, and we trust Emancipet. Even if they couldn't have gotten us in, the receptionist we spoke to could not have been more compassionate. After just getting home from my 2 dogs' annual exams, I felt compelled to write a review. I've been going to this vet for a few years now and think they are just amazing. The staff is very friendly, the space is well designed/decorated/comfortable, and I am always happy with the care my dogs receive. And I love that the vets and techs love on my dogs just like they were their own. Dr. Faggioni is not only very thorough, but he's personable and thoughtful. He gives recommendations as if your pet was his. And, he looks and sounds like Tobey Maguire. Can't go wrong with Dr. Faggioni.
my boo has been a patient here for almost two years. as a first time cat mom, everyone has always been patient with my endless questions and has always been more than helpful! boo can be difficult to deal with but dr. palvino and dr. cao are always great with him! the entire staff is so happy and passionate about what they do. while a trip to the doctor is not always fun, I know that boo is always cared for greatly when he is there! (also the resident cat is a cutie!)
