I received a followup today. I figured everything was a little crazy with the move to the new location. My cat is also doing really well. She hasn't had any issues since I took her to Austin Vet Hospital. She's happy and playful and back to normal.
Austin Vet Hospital is a great place. It is pretty central so not a long drive for most. It is very easy to get an appointment and you never have to wait long when you arrive. They are also open in the mornings/early afternoons on Saturdays, which I find really helpful. The staff is awesome- friendly and always really helpful. I once called because my dog had fleas and needed advice on everything I could do to get rid of them. The receptionist spent a good time with me on the phone giving me all the information he could whe... read more
Austin Vet Hospital? I think you mean Awesome Vet Hospital. Two years ago I was helping a friend move to Austin, and just north of Georgetown we stopped for gas. Next to the dumpster on the side of the gas station was a tiny kitten curled up in a ball that was no bigger than an orange and obviously very sick. We took her with us and drove straight to the vet, U-Haul trailer in tow. (Somewhere along the line the plan to take her to an animal shelter vanished into thin air...) It was a stroke of luck that we ended up at AVH an... read more
Super friendly, I really liked Dr. Cao. Took my kitty in because there was blood in her urine and had to run all these tests. Not sure how prices are in comparison with other places, but they seemed pretty steep. And the doc kept saying we had to run this test and that test and asked me if we should go through with it. Am I going to say no to getting my cat better? Anyways, besides the price the staff was lovely. They answered all my questions and called me back when I left them a message. My cat had a UTI and kidney stone. ... read more
Austin Vet Hospital is terrific. I initially visited them because they're right down the street from me (I live on Manor Rd), and I'm so glad I did. Last October, my dog Diamond got away from a pet sitter and was lost for 3 days. When my boyfriend and I found her, she had traumatic injuries to her right rear leg. Dr Palvino and I decided that he had to perform an amputation, and I'm so glad that he and the staff at AVH were the ones to do it. They were there for me during the whole process: calling me back within the h... read more
Thanks, AVH. I had to move my cats across the country recently, and I absolutely could not have done it without the help of all the people at Austin Vet Hospital. I took my cats in for an annual checkup and also to get a record of their health so that they could fly (a requirement for most airlines). It's supposed to be dated within 10 days of travel, so I took them in close to the date I was planning to move. And then, the day before we were scheduled, my boyfriend's office asked him (told him) to stay another 2 weeks. Amon... read more
I called to make a checkup appointment for Samson and I got an appointment for the very next day. The staff at the desk were friendly and helpful. Dr. Palvino and his great assistant were reassuring and they answered all my nervous kitty mama questions. He gave me a heads-up about my cat's extremely mild case of stomatitis (gum inflammation) but didn't try to sell me any unnecessary treatment or service, he just said that I'd have to keep an eye on it and possibly treat it in the future. Thanks Dr. P and Austin Vet Hospital.
This has to be one of the best vets I have ever been to. Dr. Palvino and crew are so top shelf in service and care for every animal. Their personal touch to every step and visit is amazing every time. Only the best for my kids!
Great doctors and great staff. They squeezed us in on a busy day to treat our recently rescued dog's kennel cough (which had gotten to the point where he was hacking constantly and throwing up as a result). The staff was friendly and attentive, the techs were gentle and informative, and Dr. Palvino was professional, thorough, and reassuring. We are new pet parents, and we have found our vet. Bonus that it's central and easy to get to off I-35.
