The process Better uses of having Tasks that you complete helps you understand what you have done & what is still left to do. The representatives are very helpful. I think they are all working from home but if your rep is not available another will answer. Being able to sign most documents virtually is a plus. I did not understand in advance how I would get copies of the closing documents but my representative helped me get them after the close. When I first got my refinance quote from Better, I honestly thought it was too good to be true. How could a company provide rock bottom rates, charge no origination fees (this is really where you save), and even give me a credit toward closing costs? Turns out, it wasn't too good to be true. While the process is a bit more DIY than your traditional mortgage broker, the money you save in the end is totally worth it. Although Ive gotten several mortgages throughout my life, I had never had the guts to try an online lender and being in my 50s I didnt know if I had the technological skills to do it. The team at Better did an excellent job of helping us with our refinance. They worked with us as self employed borrowers to jump through the hoops required because of covid. Another lender had dropped us last minute leaving us out of pocket for the appraisal - but Better worked with us to use our appraisal and save us that cost. They even matched rates when the lender that left us high and dry. It was a very pleasant experience.
This was my first refinancing in almost a decade, and my first experience in dealing with an online mortgage broker. It was a smooth and pleasant experience. Better's website seemed very well organized, with its lists of tasks to be completed. Occasionally I needed to ask questions, and always received prompt answers. I would have no hesitation in recommending Better to others (in fact, I already have) or in using them again.
I refinanced my mortgage with Better and the process was extremely fast and streamlined. Since I have every docs they ask for, the whole process took only about 2 weeks. I am also impressed that they didn't charge any loan origination and other loan fees. You need to check them out before you go with someone else.
Everyone I worked with was prompt, professional, and pleasant. I would absolutely use Better again in the future.
Truly amazing!Our current lender led us on for a month until the day before closing, then denied the loan due to length of time on the job, which they knew from day 1.Then we accidentally found Better Mortgage when going to the Rocket Mortgage site.
