This has been the most absurd clownshoes operation I've ever been a part of. No one on the team seems to know what they're doing and when I request to speak to a supervisor, they agree this whole loan has been tragically mis-managed from the start, but still seem to be struggling to move the ball even another inch down the field. Terrible company. Took us down path and both people assigned to our loan went on vacation right on the middle of us trying to close. We were told that our loan was not assigned to anyone while these people left for vacation so it dragged on. We would never recommend this company.

Better is one of the worst lenders in this market. Extending the contract twice still won't be able to close. Their practice is they will lock you in with order of appraisal 1st, so you can't go away. They will not process the application until the last minutes. It take forever to get a hold to processor, most of the time they will never return your phone call. On top of that, their loan process is a mess. Better.com was simply fantastic! They beat the best offer I was able to find elsewhere and their customer service was outstanding. Anytime I had a question, my email was answered quickly and sometimes they would even call with an answer. Everyone I dealt with was pleasant, professional and took care of any concerns or questions I had. They put every bank I ever dealt with to shame and of the several mortgage loans I've had over the years, this was by far the simplest and best process. Better.com is the future of the mortgage industry. Incredible rates and closing costs. I expected our PACE loan tax lien to complicate the whole process, which it did, including increasing the closing costs since we had to do a cash-out refinance to pay it off, but they offered an incredibly low point cost compared to every other mortgage lender out there to keep our interest low.
