Issue 1. On their web site the dealership makes the point of a free loaner car. Read the contract carefully! If there is an accident you are on the hook for the difference between what your insurance company pays and the cost of a new(er) car. This effectively transfers all risk/costs of offering the service to the person who is unfortunate enough to get hit in DC area traffic. Issue 2. Two weeks after the having my vehicle repaired. Same error messages, same issues.
I purchased pre-owned mini cooper 2012 from BMW of Alexandria on July 30/2014. The sale man was great and very helpful on that day. Since I walked into business office. The financial officer was trying to sell the car warranty. As soon as I say "NO" to ignore the warranty. He thew the paper right in front at me and ask me to sign the paper. The people are very nice but the quality of the work in the service department leaves much to be desired. Under warranty things get fixed but once you are paying out of your pocket you can be assured it will be in the shop repeatedly. Problems that you indicate get "fixed" only to recur and another solution, which you pay for, is recommended. The experience was pretty bad from the sales process through ownership of the car. I've had to service the car twice in less than a year for engine issues. Not what I expected from a well maintained car.
On April 23, 2014 I purchased a CPO 5 series from BMW of Alexandria. This was the 3rd CPO 5 series I have purchased but the first one from this dealership. Initially everything was fine. My sales person Hugo Cuz was great and he worked with me to get the deal done. I want to be clear that my rating is no reflection on him. Their Service department is the worst. If you need an oil change, break pads or wiper replacement go there. If you need anything more that like an alignment or something a bit more complicated ..Good luck, my advice is to stay away. For example, they recommended 2alignment within two moths or less the 2000 miles apart from each other. This bad alignment caused the front tires to get damage irregularly. We arrived at the dealership w/our own financing and the desire to buy a 2014 black on black.BMW X3 28i. We were in the dealership a full 10 mintues before anyone said anything to us. Kamal finally approached us and I explained what we were looking for. He said that the dealership did not have any 2014 BMW black on black X3 28i's at all- "The go to fast." Pauk Blakeman efficiently provided an internet quote to me for a 2013 BMW X1 xDrive28i. Among the four Northern VA and MD suburb (Sterling, Fairfax, Rockville, and Alexandria) BMW dealers that I received quotes, Fairfax was the winner (lowest out the door price, including all taxes and fees). Paul Blakeman is the worst loser -- he will inundate you with SPAM e-mails, even knowing that you have placed an order with another dealer.
