My cat has a history of FLUTD (urinary tract/bladder problems), and he was having symptoms, but I didn't want to take him to the ER (having already racked up $5K in ER bills--yeah, I know). I was able to set up an appointment with Burnham Park to see Dr. Vlahos within a few days, which I was relieved to find, as all other vets I was trying to reach out to were booked solid for multiple weeks. The office is extremely clean and tidy. There's a spacious waiting room so that multiple owners and their pets can be in the room wit... read more
Oh my goodness, what can I say about Burnham Park! Dr. Olsen saved my cats life! Andy suddenly stopped eating and using the bathroom, and was hiding himself away from my other cats. Burnham Park ran tests and Dr Olsen said 'you really need to get him back to us today so we can start treatment" he was in renal failure. I was devastated and cried all the way there and all the way home. Dr Olsen said she felt good about his prognosis and was positive about his outcome. Andy responded while in the hospital, but when I brought him... read more
I can't say enough good things about Burnham Park. We have a 8 year old dog with some degenerative spinal issues that require her to have urgent appointments at unpredictable times. Our old vet, who is located a little closer to us, consistently would refer us to an emergency vet where we'd spend hundreds of dollars just to get her some pain relief when we already knew what the problem was. We called Burnham Park in desperation to make an appointment last time our pup had an issue and the emergency vet wasn't an option. Not ... read more

Thank you for sharing your wonderful review, Sydney. The qualities you described are the goals we strive to achieve for all of our clients. On behalf of the staff, thank you for trusting us with your pets' care for years!
Dr. Vlahos is the best vet I have ever come across. Always listening and taking his time with my Rhodesian and my staffordshire terrier who is prone to more allergies than I could imagine. He is awesome and would definitely recommend him and his team to any1 with dogs looking for a solid local vet in the Chicago loop.
Business response:
We love hearing that your pet enjoys their visits with us as much as we enjoy seeing you all. See you next time!
This place is wonderful. My dog was in need of dental work and, honestly, I had been putting it off. I knew it needed to be done, but she was fine. She ate, I gave her food that supposedly helped her teeth, she played, and she seemed happy. One day a tooth fell out. Then another, then another, and this one was not pretty or clean. She bled quite a bit so I brought her into Burnham and Dr Ted saw her. He explained what needed to be done and also noticed a bump that she needed to have removed. I scheduled the dental sur... read more

Thank you for your kind review, Shawn! We love visits from you and your family and appreciate you trusting us with your pet's care.
I want to thank the doctors that spent the last year and a half taking care of my cat Scotch. I moved to the city about a year and a half ago and they provided good care. My cat passed away last Friday on the way to the vet and the doctor attending helped me understand what had happened. She told me he didn't have pain and helped me get some closure, they even let me hold him and spend as much time as I wanted as I said goodbye to my precious boy. Dr. B was Scotches primary care giver and had a great bedside manner and was ve... read more
This is an excellent clinic. Dr Clack and Dr. B and Dr. V and Dr. Olson are really great, caring, capable, intelligent vets. The prices are reasonable and they understand working within a budget. I feel that the medicine they practice is excellent (and I can be somewhat picky about the care my pets/kids receive), and I love the weekend hours the clinic offers. The front desk staff is responsive and follows up with requests. I am almost always accommodated with getting in to see the doctor when I request. I'm very glad I ... read more
The best care South Loop Veterinary can offer. Truly amazing and hard working staff. I know that place pretty well and from the inside out I wouldn't change anything about the care you and your furr babies are getting. All doctors are helpful and take the time you want to address your issues. Def. Recommend.
Burnham Park Animal Hospital has been my cats' vet for about 15 years. We've had good experiences with Dr. Bruederle and Dr. Clack-Bell. The technicians and front desk staff have always been kind, too. Dr. Clack-Bell has been my cats' primary doctor. She is friendly, caring, and patiently explains complicated medical issues in terms I can easily understand. My cats don't like going to the vet (of course), but I trust the doctors and staff at Burnham Park to care for them and make visits as low-stress as possible. Their price... read more
