I bought my fiancee's engagement ring at Mervis last year and have no regrets. While it's cheaper to buy one at a chain store, for an important ring such as an engagement one, I highly recommend an independent diamond importer, such as Mervis. Their customer service is excellent and they give you all the information you need when deciding a purchase.

My sales representative, Deva, was great at providing suggestions for designs my girlfriend would like, while still fitting within my budget. Elizabeth Appleman worked with us and was excellent. My gal had already gone to Tiffany's to get the lay of the land. But I knew nothing about diamonds and was in need of remedial education. Elizabeth was clear and patient, going back multiple times to find diamonds that would help us grasp which of the various components mattered for our need.
